VOA: Saudi Official Won't Rule Out Seeking Nuclear Bomb to Meet Iranian Threat
Saudi Arabia's foreign minister has refused to rule out that it will seek a nuclear weapon if archrival Iran becomes a threat.
In an interview Tuesday, Reuters news agency asked Adel al-Jubeir whether Saudi Arabia would try to get a nuclear bomb if Iran obtained one, despite its agreement with six world powers. He responded that his country would do "whatever we need to do in order to protect our people."
Jubeir said the end of Western sanctions on Iran as part of the nuclear agreement would be welcome if Iran uses unfrozen funds to improve the living standards of its people.

There is no evidence that Adel al-Jubeir was ever targeted by Iran, as CNN claims.
Iran has no Atomic Weapons Program, and hasn't even wanted a bomb since the Israeli's blew up Osiraq back in 1981, which on one hand, caused Saddam to put the Iraqi Nuclear Weapons program into high gear, but on the other hand, doomed the Iraqi Nuclear Weapons program.
Fearmongering, lying and hyping the non-existent Iranian bomb has been a cash cow since 1991.
Back in the early 90's, the story was that the USSR sold Iran 7 nuclear bombs, or the story was that the USSR "loaned" Iran 7 nuclear bombs which they dismantled, reverse engineered, put back together and returned to the USSR, or it was 3 bombs and 2 nuclear artillary she's bought from the newly independent Kazikistan, or it was 250 nuclear bombs smuggled out of the Ukraine,
The doozy of all the made up stories, was the one in 1993, based on a speech that the Ayatollah never made, "confirmed" by an anonamous CIA Iranian asset in the US, ( who turned out to be a Burbank dry cleaner), was that Iran had 20 prepositioned Nuclear Suitcase Bombs already hidden in US cities.
Starting in 1992, the stories started being told that Iran was just 6 months away from making a bomb, every 6 months, the same fear mongering for the next 20 years, still no bomb.
Pakistan is not going to sell Saudi Arabia a bomb. They need every single one for war with India, and despite Saudi demands, Pakistan wouldn't even send a token force to Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen. If, and that's a big if, Saudi Arabia put money into Pakistans Bomb program, well Pakistan is keeping the money, thank you very much, and they are keeping the bombs.
Saudi Arabia might be making noise about building their own bomb, but, they don't have the infrastructure to do so, and their utter reliance on imported workers and technicians to do the basic tasks of keeping the lights on and the oil pumping suggest's that a Saudi bomb is highly unlikely.
It's just Sturm unt Drang and petulant pouting.
I concur Jay. The Saudis may have the money .... but for them to obtain a nuclear weapons infrastructure and arsenal .... they will be dependent on outside help .... and a lot of it.
