Russia’s air force has practiced a nuclear strike against Sweden, according to a report by NATO’s secretary general.
The Russian training mission, which took place in March 2013 by the eastern edge of the Stockholm archipelago, attracted a great deal of media attention and some Swedish media outlets speculated the maneuvers resembled what a Russian aerial attack on Sweden would look like.
The incident involved a rapid deployment of Russian bomber and fighter aircraft at Sweden’s aerial border, prompting an embarrassingly slow response from the Swedish air force. Unable to mobilize its own air force in time, Stockholm had to ask NATO to send jets to deal with the possible threat.

You always have contingency plans.
I could see that Russia has one against Norway.
But Sweden is run by a bunch of socialists. Why have a plan against them?
Is it like German planning against Switzerland circa WW2?
Of course Russian has to have a plan for Sweden, when it becomes a failed state.
Of course in my adelled mind, Russia intentions are far more grand. With Putins dangerously assumed partner, China, Russia feels they can reach the stars in global expansionism. My question, does Putin really think he has a solid partner in China. I think China and Russia are just whoring around with whatever sluts they can pick up. And let's face it, both their many involvements on the world stage, don't connote the conduct of good planetary nation states, but of spoiled brats, constantly testing the boundaries for repercussions. Except on this planet we don't have a global school marm to spank their f-ing asses. Grow up, Xi and Putin bullies are not well liked.

To here many tell of it over 1/2 the problems in the World are due to the U.S.
China and Russia are all but innocents, babes in the woods. Heck if the U.S. did not exist or had been "good", Russian and China would be perfect citizens of the world too.
While the "official" policy of Sweden, embedded in their constitution, is "nutrality",

In event of a full on war, the Soviet Union/Russia has always had plans in place to attack Sweden, so that the Swedes can't block/report/track Soviet/Russian boomer subs from heading to their positions in the Atlantic, and to allow the Baltic Fleet to conduct operations.
Jay. I was told years ago that the only country that the Soviet Union would not attack/invade was Switzerland. Every other European country was fair game.

During the Cold War, amongst "western European nations", only Switzerland's and Austria's policies of official "neutrality" were matched by being neutral.
All of the other so called "neutral" nations hosted secret bases, secret treaties and secret military/intelligence cooperation with NATO and the other actors,
And of course, none of those secrets were not secret to the Soviet Union, and now Russia.
They were only "secret" to their local populations, whom in many cases, would have overthrown their Governments if they had known.
