Turkey To Continue Military Strikes Against US-Allied Kurdish Fighters In Syria

VOA: Turkey to Extend Strikes on US-Allied Kurdish Fighters in Syria

Turkey says it will continue to target U.S.-allied Kurdish fighters on the Syrian frontier near its border, despite mounting international pressure on the Ankara government to stop the artillery bombardments.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, in telephone talks Sunday, told German Chancellor Angela Merkel that Turkish forces will "not permit" the Kurdish People's Protection Units fighters (YPG), of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) "to carry out aggressive acts."

Must have missed this on the U.S. National Nightly News. But I did catch the first few minutes of fender benders due to snow fall. I feel well informed.

Seriously....

Check out the U.S. equipping 4,000 Peshmerga with full gear. If only the U.S. could send some aid to Detroit, Flint....U.S. makes it hard to know who is the enemy and who is friendly.

And U.S. diplomats use the "martyr" terminology for our allies and despise it when used by our enemies. 1984 I hear you calling. Spring is in the air.

Excerpt:

"We are in the process of now training two brigades which is over 4,000 Peshmerga. We are going to equip these brigades with the full set of equipment including light weapons, heavy weapons, machine guns, ammunition, all the logistical support they need including Humvees, MRAPs and so this will provide greater capabilities for these Peshmerga and these trainings have already started. We expect this to continue through the spring."
