Washington Post: Ukraine’s prime minister survives no-confidence vote amid deepening anger

KIEV, Ukraine — Ukraine’s government under Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk survived a rowdy vote of no confidence on Tuesday, as outrage over economic recession and political cronyism threatened the collapse of his ruling coalition.

The motion to oust the cabinet, which gained momentum as President Petro Poroshenko endorsed a government reshuffle, received 194 votes in Ukraine’s parliament, falling short of the 226 votes required to pass. Fears of greater political turmoil, including snap elections, appeared to save Yatsenyuk, whose ratings with voters have plunged into the single digits in recent months amid the country’s deepest political crisis since the pro-Western revolution of 2014.

Tuesday’s vote revealed the raw anger directed at the post-revolutionary government, which has failed to enact promised reforms.

WNU Editor: Not surprised by this no-confidence vote failing .... many of these legislatures do not want to go to the polls knowing too well that they will be thrown out of office. For Ukraine President Poroshenko .... who is just as unpopular .... this is a defeat. On a bright note .... at least Ukraine’s embattled Prosecutor General Victor Shokin .... who has completely failed in stemming corruption .... has resigned.

Yatsenyuk prior to the coup was the head of a US-financed NGO in Kyev, groomed to be where he is by Nuland of the US State Dept.

Yes, "Yats" is their boy. You can hear the Cookie Monster mentioning how he should be pushed forward in the intercepted conversations Russia released.

Here is a photo taken before the coup featuring Victoria Nuland, Yarsenyi Yatsenyuk, Vitali Klitschko, and Oleh Tyahnybok.

wiki:
Vitali Volodymyrovych Klitschko is a Ukrainian politician and former professional boxer, who currently serves as Mayor of Kiev and head of the Kiev City State Administration. He has held both offices since June 2014.

Oleh Yaroslavovych Tyahnybok is a Ukrainian politician who is a former member of the Verkhovna Rada and the leader of nationalist far-right (some say neo-Nazi) Svoboda political party.

As for the IMF money, the Economist plays games as usual. Ukraine, in a civil war, should not have received the IMF "loan" tranches it did. The money has been also held up since August because the crooks (Russia is right about them), funneled not a little of it offshore through private banks. It's not a loan if the debtor has no intention or ability to back it back. It's a write-off. Otherwise known as a grant, gratuity or in the Ukraine's case, a scam.

If it were me, I'd tell them to take the Maidan empties back.
