Will North Korea's Kim Jong-Un Go To War?

Gordon G. Chang, Daily Beast: Will Kim Jong Un Go to War?

With South Korea’s president flinging insults and his country losing important sources of income, Kim is facing a huge crisis—and it might just push him to the brink of invasion.

In a nationally televised speech Tuesday, South Korean President Park Geun Hye defended her controversial decision to close the Kaesong Industrial Complex in North Korea. She also delivered comments sure to enrage Kim Jong Un, the leader of that destitute and dangerous state.

For instance, she promised her government would take “stronger and more effective” measures to impress upon Pyongyang that its nuclear program would hasten “regime collapse.” She talked about Kim’s state as “merciless” and mentioned its “extreme reign of terror.”

Park also broke other taboos, mentioning Kim by name, taunting him. Compounding the affront, she chose his father’s birthday to make her remarks.

WNU Editor: I do not see a war happening. So North Korea loses $120 million in hard currency .... it is not going to impact Kim Jong Un personally, and in his world that is what counts. As for his citizens .... too bad .... and if some start to protest .... the secret police have proven themselves many times in the past to be very capable in crushing any dissent.

Park is a US agent, insulting Kim similarly to how the US talks to Putin. The US has continually provoked both. China too, but no personal insults to Xi, yet.

Kim is a insignificant clown who is best ignored.
He will throw the dummy and cry then go back to sleep.
If he should attempt to climb out of his cot he will be dmacked and his 1960s toys will go straight in the trash.

Weird how this became the US's problem in your comment and how Putin as a victim got thrown in. The president of South Korea was elected by the majority of the South Korean people in an objectively fair election. Unless the US forced millions of South Koeans to vote the same way, it's hard to see how the US controls this. Kim is shaking the walls of his cage for internal political reasons as he is consolidating his power. It shouldn't be surprising that South Korea reacts to Kim's provications. He isn't playing nice, why would anyone expect South Korea to treat him any differently. Kim is pushing South Korea and Japan to the nuclear party. China, who is the only one that can influence North Korea and would also suffer the most if it collapses, has to control Kim better because these new party goers are China's neighbor, and they are at odds with China.

North Korea had a nasty habit of traveling to Japoan and kidnapping Japanese.

But somehow Park Geun Hye is worse than Kim Jong Un to a diseased mind.
