Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has said he would consider stopping US oil purchases from Saudi Arabia and other Arab allies unless the Saudi government provide troops to fight Islamic State.
Trump made the comments in a lengthy foreign policy interview published by the New York Times on Saturday in response to a question about whether, if elected president, he would halt oil purchases from US allies unless they provided on-the-ground forces against Islamic State.
“The answer is, probably yes,” Trump said, according to a transcript.

WNU Editor: It would be impossible to impose U.S. sanctions on Saudi oil .... Saudi oil is literally everywhere .... but I can see how the politics of this issue is probably making the House of Saud go apoplectic right now .... which is probably what Trump wants to do right now as he continues to pursue votes among the Republican base. He has certainly dominated the news cycle (again) on the Republic nomination race today.

I really wish Mr Donald Trump could be the president of United State now.
The thing about Trump is that many of the things he says aren't supposed to be feasible in their current form. He's not making policy suggestions (because to be fair, hardly anyone is, in the sense of something they'd actually do when they get elected) - he's trying to control the conversation, stir it this way and that, and wage psychological warfare on others, including Saudi Arabia. He makes himself look crazy for the same reason Putin or Kim or any number of others make themselves look crazy while remaining rational actors - because if the ones you're hoping to influence have no idea how far you'd actually be willing to go, they will be more likely to try to appease you just to be safe.
