Sputnik: 200 Terrorists Take Side of Syria's Raqqa Residents Rebelling Against Daesh

A source told Sputnik that some 200 terrorists on Sunday supported residents of Syrian city of Raqqa in their fight against Daesh. The U-turn challenged the jihadist group's efforts to take a full control over the town.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — About 200 terrorists have taken the side of the residents of Syrian city of Raqqa, who have been rebelling against Daesh jihadist group, a source told Sputnik.

On Sunday, residents of the occupied Raqqa clashed with the Daesh militants and flown Syria's flags in five neighborhoods of the city. The residents took to the streets in two neighborhoods, killing a number of Daesh militants.
