Washington Post: ‘The military is not his palace guards,’ retired three-star general says of Donald Trump
Retired Army Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling says he had “a visceral response” to some of the rhetoric Donald Trump unleashed during the most recent Republican debate.
But the statement that really concerned him, Hertling told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Monday, came when Trump told debate moderator Bret Baier that there’s no way U.S. service members would refuse to follow his orders.
“They won’t refuse,” Trump said during Thursday’s debate on Fox News. “They’re not going to refuse me, believe me. If I say do it, they’re going to do it. That’s what leadership is all about.”
Hertling forcefully disagreed, calling the Republican front-runner’s management style “toxic leadership.”

The hype around this Trump situation is simply too much. Watching all these bourgeois bloodsuckers scramble around gives me an impression of a put-on. Trump is where he's at because he's one of them. He's just better at telling sacred, ignorant white America what it wants to hear.
The eyes should be on Hillary. The real Hitler with a real shot at the White House.

Interesting links Jay. Thank you.
The fun parts are :
A) taking the Political Compass yourself, then comparing your position to the 2016 Cantidates,
Then playing around with it to find out what "deeply held" convictions you have to bail on, to match your "preferred" cantidate,
B) comparing the current 2016 crop to historic crops, and historic figures.
Maggie Thatcher, Barak Obama (2012) and Hillary Clinton (2016) all occupy the exact same right/authoritarian spot on the graph.
Jay. My score was libertarian right.
I'm libertarian left, Bernie's far authoritarian/ right from me.
I hate those agree/disagree political orientation quizes, the nature of the questions leave much to be desired. I feel like I'm being guided to a specific answer, the logic of the statements can be so off from your own thoughts that the questions are unanswerable.
Example: "If the global economy is inevitable then...." what if you didn't believe globalism was inevitable then how are you expected to make an answer.
The quadrant format, makes a simple, left/right line into a 4 orientation chart.
You could set the graph up as a 3 dimensional sphere, use 3,600 questions to define your position, make the questions essay questions and use an AI Algorithm to determine your scoring,
But who's going to spend the 98 hours online, taking the test.
Like I said, the fun part is playing around with it to find out what "deeply held" convictions you have to bail on, to match your "preferred" cantidate,
