Secretary of State Kerry Says He Will Travel To Moscow Next Week To Discuss Russian Withdrawal, Syria Peace Talks

Russia's President Vladimir Putin (R) speaks to US Secretary of State John Kerry (C) as Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov listens during their meeting in Moscow, May 7, 2013. (Reuters photo)

WNU Editor: AP is carrying the story .... Secretary of State John Kerry says he will travel to Moscow next week to discuss Russian withdrawal, Syria peace talks with Russian officials (AP). Am I surprised by this U.S. move .... no .... and as I said in September last year .... When It Comes To The Middle East All Roads Now Lead to Moscow.

Update: This Reuters analysis is now realizing (albeit belatedly) where Russia now stands in the Middle East (and elsewhere) .... Seat at geopolitical top table allowed Putin to scale back in Syria (Reuters).

Above photo conversation:
Putin: OK John, let's go over this one more time, you are a US Secretary of State. You have to go here and there to implement your boss's foreign (stifles a laugh) policies. But we want you to know that in us well "you have a friend"! Isn't that right Sergei!

Kerry: But who do I talk to now?

Putin: Don't worry, get back with Sergei here in a couple of days. He'll get you lined out.
