Report: President Obama To Decide Within 60 Days On Declassifying All 9/11 Documents (Updated)

Shane Harris, Daily Beast: Obama W.H. Making ‘Every Effort’ To Review Declassification of 9/11 Report’s Secret Pages

The statement comes ahead of the President’s trip this month to Saudi Arabia.

By the end of President Obama’s term in office, the administration hopes to decide whether to declassify a controversial portion of Congress’ investigation into the 9/11 attacks, the White House said Tuesday. The so-called “28 pages,” which have never been publicly released, are said to implicate Saudi government officials and civilians in the deadliest act of terrorism on U.S. soil.

The administration had directed a “declassification review” of the material from the Joint Congressional Inquiry into the terrorist attacks in 2014. Former lawmakers who have read the classified pages say they describe a financial and logistical support network for the 19 hijackers, most of them Saudi citizens, while they were in the U.S. The report was released in December 2002.

WNU Editor: The White House is not willing to commit to such a declassification .... White House won’t commit to declassifying secret 9/11 report (Washington Times). The Saudis are denouncing 60 Minutes for their report on the still classified 28 pages .... Saudis respond to "60 Minutes" report on possible 9/11 link (CBS). What's my take .... President Obama is in Saudi Arabia next week .... if he gets what he wants, this report will still be classified. But if this meeting ends badly .... I would not be surprised if it becomes declassified. The CBS 60 Minutes report "28 pages" is here.

"The Saudis are denouncing 60 Minutes" Admission of guilt. They don't have to worry though unless Obama starts to think Trump will win.

This is BS. If the information is there it should be released. Nations went to war over this attack. Tens of thousands have died and continue to die or have their lives torn assunder. Whole rafts of laws were passed infringing on civil liberties. Trillions have been spent.

These papers obvioulsy expose some deeply disturbing truths that affect more than the U.S. After their release, Canada should close the Saudi Embassy, eject its staff and issue arrest warrants under the Anti-Terrorism Act for any Canadian who has been cooperating with the KSA. This includes anyone involved in selling them weapons.

Anyone.

Enough is enough.
