Saudi Arabia Is Now The World’s Third Biggest Military Spender

Washington Post: Saudi Arabia passes Russia as world’s third biggest military spender

Global military spending reached almost $1.7 trillion in 2015, marking a year-on-year increase for the first time since 2011, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, which tracks arms expenditure around the world.

The United States remained far and away the top spender, which despite a dip from 2014, accounted for more than a third of total global spending. It was followed by China and then, perhaps surprisingly, Saudi Arabia, which supplanted Russia in third place. (The figure for China in the chart below is based on a SIPRI estimate.)

Technically, the US, the UK, the Saudi's, Turkey, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Senegal, Sudan, Al Quida in the Arab Penninsula and the mercenaries of DynaCorp are not fighting the Houthi's and losing,

They are fighting the Revolutionary Comittee, which comprises an alliance of the Houthis's, allied Yardzi and Sunni Tribes, all of the Yemeni Special and antiTerrorism Forces, the Yemeni Navy and Airforce, roughly 80% of the Yemeni Army and roughly 75% of the Yemeni Police and Security Forces.

Still, it shows, that the best Western Weapons, Merc's And UK/US military support, allied with the combined efforts of the "Arab" Nations and the best Whabbist Jihadi Terrorist Goat Fucking Head Choppers that money and influence can buy,

Still amounts to jack shit against the will of 95% of Yemeni's to resist being subject to an Islamic Caliphinate.

Those jackwads that yammer ignorantly on about "all Muslims are evil", should take note which side their Government is on.

Saying with all that military spending they havent been able to defeat the houthis in yemen is like saying that the u.s cant defeat isis with all that spending.
Neither has gone to war and is engaged in a police action.

According to the "Lost Armour" blog, the US/UK/Arab/Whabbist Jihadi Terrorist Heat Chopping Goat Fuckers Alliance has lost:

98 Main Battle Tanks, ( M1's, M-60's LeClerks)
278 APC's and IFV's
462 MRAP's, LAV's and AFV'
28 Fighter Jets,
2 Destroyers,
7 Frigates,
21 Patrol Boats,

1587 dead Soldiers, 11,764 wounded, 4380 allied Al Quida and Hadi forces dead, 23,760 wounded, 198 Academi Merc's dead and 2350 wounded, 22 Dynacorp Merc's dead, and 179 wounded, ( and DynaCorp's had the contract for less than a month),

According to Wikipedia, U.S. losses in WWII are as follows:
Air: Total losses were nearly 95,000, including 52,951 operational losses.
Land: ~10,000 tanks/SPGs/tank destroyers lost. Roughly 7,000 of those lost in the year following D-Day.
Sea: 444 vessels - including 14 Carriers, 10 Cruisers, 83 Destroyers, and 52 Submarines.
Personnel: 407,300 military deaths – only a fraction of the estimated 25 million total losses and does not include civilian deaths all over Europe and the Pacific.

Every American was involved in WWII in some way; from saving Bacon fat to refine into glycerin for gun powder to sending their sons off to fight. I'm sure those goat fuckers actually fighting in Yemen believe they are at war, but, in my opinion, the world has forgotten what WAR really is. Saudi Arabia is not at WAR - the KINGDOM is playing power politics with its citizens. When those citizens are unable to go about their days as usual because to do otherwise could mean death, then they will be at WAR.
A lot of small arms can be purchased for the cost of a single M1A1 or Tornado aircraft. Loss of those high cost tools only sends orgasmic reverberations through the loins of the corporations that manufacture them. If, in fact, these nations were committed to destroying their opponents (which would require major civilian support and involvement - not likely to be gained)then they could easily crush and occupy the territory of their "enemies". There was some 18 million Americans in the military in June 1945 - add to that the numbers in foreign armies and the fact that the German military was NOT disbanded after the fall of Berlin - and the size of the occupying forces were unfathomable today. Ask yourself how many troops were in Iraq at the height of U.S. involvement there, then try explain why the Middle East is in the state it is today.
Either all in or all out - you are not going to win a war with half measures. But then sometimes "war" itself is the victory - at least to bureaucrats, politicians, private security corporations, and Defenses industries...

Yup, that's a concept, known since WWI, as " total war", which was lastvseen in the Iran- Iraq war, whole societies invested in the prosecution of the war.

Since the Vietnam War, ( which the US took 2nd Place and the Miss Congeniality Award), it's been a commitment the US has structurally avoided, because it requires motivationg an entire society towards a common goal, not just maintaining an Empire.

Were the US to actually try to engage in Total War, the Republic would Fail, as guy's like fazman are fine with the US supporting Whabbist Head Chopping, Goat Fucking Islamic Jihadists, as long as they arn't killing Americans every day, just don't draft him and put him in a trench with them,

The homoerotic undertones of masculine bearded goat fuckers scares him.

I'm in a paticularly shitty mood. Yesterday, through the expat grape vine, I learned that a friend of mine, a Professor of Medieval English Literature, who had been working as a taxi driver since the FSA invaded his town, along with his familiy, ( wife, two son's ( 11 and 14), daughter(6) and mother in law), was executed last week by the FSA for having "Crusader" books, ( Chaucer, Sheakspeare, etc) in his home and their heads were placed in the doorway as a warning to others.

Jay .... I know how you feel. When the Syrian war started I knew a few Vloggers who were working tirelessly videotaping the demonstrations, the uprising, and then the war. They were sending me the links to their videos on YouTube, communicating with me as best as they could in English, and I was posting them on this blog. They were all killed ... and by both sides .... within a year.

Sighhh .... Jay .... Google Steven Vincent (Red Zone). When I first started blogging I got to know him via through email. A brilliant war correspondent and blogger .... murdered in Iraq in 2005.

The list is long and getting longer.
