Praying For Palmyra: Russia's Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra Performs A Concert Honoring Victims Of Syria War (Full Video)

From YouTube: Renowned conductor Valery Gergiev is leading a concert in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra to support the restoration of the UNESCO site and honor victims of the war. The city of Palmyra was devastated by Islamic State terrorists who occupied the site for some 10 months before it was liberated by Syrian troops with Russian air support.

WNU Editor: Wow .... the music and the historical setting .... wow . I know that Palmyra is a war zone .... but wow .... I wish I was a spectator to this.

Russians get an A on Pr here.
Brief look at the video. The aerial overhead shots are interesting. Somebody put the effort into making sure the area was sanitized for quite a distance away from the stage and seating, but they parked the band's buses and a few officials cars right next to the arena. To be expected lot's of uniformed Syrians in the crowd. I was waiting for Bob Hope to come out to do an intro and a few jokes, but he and Ann Margaret were unavailable.
