World Leaders Want to Know From President Obama If Donald Trump Has A Chance Of Becoming President

New York Times: Obama Braces for Donald Trump Questions From World Leaders

HANOI, Vietnam — Officially, the top world leaders who gather Thursday at the Group of 7 summit meeting will talk about shared concerns, like global trade or the Islamic State. But their private discussions are likely to cover a topic that is not on the agenda: Donald J. Trump.

President Obama now hears questions in his meetings with world leaders about whether Mr. Trump has a realistic shot at becoming president.

For months, Mr. Obama has answered those questions with an emphatic “no.”

“I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president,” Mr. Obama said in February at the end of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit meeting in California.

But this week’s summit meeting in Japan is the first among major allies since Mr. Trump moved decisively toward securing the Republican nomination, and Mr. Obama’s counterparts are likely to want more detail in his explanations of an election that has prompted fascination and apprehension overseas.

WNU Editor:
President Obama is not the person to ask questions on Donald Trump. But the fact that they are asking them tells me that many of them are now looking at the very real possibility of a Trump Presidency, and on how it impact trade and business with the U.S.. The countries that are the most concerned are Japan and China .... no surprise there .... they enjoy hundreds of billions in trade surpluses each year with the U.S. and they now see that imbalance under threat.

I think a better question would can anyone defeat Mr. Trump and not whether he can become the next POTUS. The better question is can anyone stop him ftom winning the election. At this point, the only thing likely to prevent him from becoming the next POTUS would be if the powers that be conspire to steal it from him

Unlike the supporters of former President Bush who were passive in the face of relentess falsehoods and attacks on him Trump supporters have indicated a willingness to fight back against injustice. Also, Mr. Trump currently has the support of the rank and file military personnel as well as probably most law enforcement personnel.

As such, if the powers that be act in a manner to try and steal the election from him, they could be in for a nasty shock. At this point, that's about the only way to prevent a president Trump.

Can Trump win is emphatically the wrong question. If I were a foreign leader and wanted constructive relations with America, I would plan under the assumption that Mr. Trump is going to be the next POTUS. Even if I desire a different outcome, president Trump cannot be prevented. From this realization, myself and my team would be exploring ways we could assist Mr. Trump. After all he's going to win regardless and having his gratitude might prove helpful.

I suppose they can adjust to reality and act accordingly or they can continue asking stupid questions. I've long known America's politic leadership class is stupid. Apparently this problem is not unique to America. Also, I'd tend to agree that Barack Obama would be the last person to ask this questikn.
