Reuters: Britain's EU Out campaign takes 4-5 percentage point lead: YouGov and ICM polls
The campaign for Britain to leave the European Union has taken a 4-5 percentage point lead ahead of a June 23 referendum, according to online polls by ICM and YouGov, sending sterling toward three-week lows against the U.S. dollar.
The swing toward "Out" with less than three weeks to go comes as both sides step up their campaigning to try to win over the large number of still undecided voters with warnings over the economy and immigration.
The ICM poll of 1,741 people taken June 3-5 showed 48 percent would vote to leave, up from 47 percent a week earlier, while 43 percent would opt to stay, down 1 percentage point from a week earlier.
The YouGov poll of 3,495 people on June 1-3 showed 45 percent would opt to leave the EU, up from 40 percent in a comparable poll a month earlier, while 41 percent would opt to stay, down from 42 percent.

WNU Editor: The people with money are worried .... Sterling falls after polls suggest growing Brexit support (BBC), and pro-EU politicians are now plotting to ignore the referendum result .... Pro-EU MPs could stage guerrilla campaign to reverse Brexit decision (The Guardian). What's my take .... I do not live in the UK, but the impression that I am getting from what I am reading is that those who want to leave the EU have far more passion for their cause than those who want to stay.

Looking at this chart and based on the mean and std. dev. should they have voted to join it in the 1st place.
The long term average could be say 48%, but an enterprising or unscrupulous pol times the vote for an upswing or after a propaganda blitz.
Is that a way to convince people?
What irked me is that 2 or 3 countries voted multiple times about joining.
Isn't that kind of like a pollster calling your personnel residence and asking your opinion and then keeps calling until he gets the right answer?
That is like the push polling news & other organizations do. It reminds me of the Wilder effect. You tell the pollster what you think they want to hear.
the icing on the cake is that after 1/2 or 3/4s of a generation of working to put it together, it came apart in less than 1/2 a generation. See southern Europe. Also see how the books were cooked (See Greece) to create the mirage.
These idiot pols could not put 2 generators onto a line together.
Oh wait but they are meddling into that too. Say hello dirty power, blackouts and brown outs.
Even if the Britons vote to remain the EU, the forces supporting BREXIT are not going to respect the the vote, they will override the will of the people if in fact this is the will of the people, and either way BREXIT is going to be reality.
For what it's worth, the EU is at best a strategic competitor of the United States and at worst an enemy much closer to an enemy. On this basis alone, this would be reason enough to support BREXIT. With that said I'm not sure these forces will be any better for the United States than the EU is. Once Britain withdraws, perhaps we can see the inraveling of the EU which would be a VERY good thing for America.
The British will make the decisikn on whether or not to remain in the EU and I'm sure the US government will respect the vote, however, to support Britain remaining in the EU and to campaign for this seems rather dumb as Barack Obama did because 1.)it's not in US interests, 2.)as Americans typically don't like foreigners meddling in their affai which is far more frequent than vice versa Britons are not likely to appreciate such things, and 3.)BREXIT is going to be reality either by vote or by force. To oppose these forces would only lead to an unhelpful backlash against us, at worst, and, at best, has no upside for us.
BREXIT will be reality. US leaders should pkan and act accordingly.
