WNU Editor: For the past few months I have been putting links on my "Word News Briefs" post on the troublesome situation in South Africa .... I found nothing out of the ordinary, just the usual turmoil and unrest in an African nation. But last night a friend of mine from South Africa gave me the heads-up that the situation is bad .... really bad .... that it is getting worse and that I should pay more attention .... hence this post.

Well who said corruption did not pay dividends.
Now the dividends are going viral.
What of you are Mobuto Seko and there is no place left to jet set to?
Yes, he is no longer around. It is just a hypothetical question.
Where do you go with your loot? Caymans?
Could this have something to do with the BRICS Economic block Brazil was knocked out last month, now South Africa 2 out of the 5 just a though.
If this is the case of them being knocked out, I wonder whose doing the knocking out? While tempting for anti-American elements to believe, it is unlikely the US is behind any of this as the US is hated in all of these countries, the media closely monitors US officials, and to be caught in any of these countries dealing with the US would mean the end of one's political career, business career, and perhaps even their lives. This is especially the case in Brazil.
Could it be that the BRICS is all hype without any substance and people in these countries are catching on and want change? It is certainly possible as slick messaging only gets one so far.
I should clarify to deal with the US against any of the governments of these countries is what would create the problem not dealing with the US, in and of itself, as this is likely necessary in official capacities. With such huge downside risk with virtually no upside potential it is hard to imagine anyone would take the risk in any of these countries.
The ANC is rife with corruption. Post apartheid South Africa has not proven to be as wonderful for most South Africans (white or black) as promised. Rich, privileged white overseers have been replaced or joined by blacks. Neo-liberal economic prescriptions, such as pay as you go water meters, have not been a bit.
Now Mr. Zuma is taking about land re-distribution (which is long overdue). The thing is, he is doing it now because he and his government are on the hotseat. 70% of the land is still owned by whites who make up less than 10% of the population. The ANC is sure to louse up implementing the changes as they will be heavy on nepotism, favouritism, glad-handing and big anti-white pronouncements.
South Africa is now paying the price for believing that the colour of one's skin automatically makes them better suited to lead. Black Americans should have taken note.
