ISIS has to be really bad. This was a textbook ambush that lasted for hours and they failed to capitalize on it. I'm surprised that this isnt happening everywhere in Mosul, spearheading lightly armored vehicles in än urban enviroment.. Wierd..

The ambush took place in a "secured area", the small ISIS team did a "perfect" blocking ambush with IED's, a light force, ( rpg's, AK's, Druganovs, grenades), killed or wounded 80 out of a 100 man Company, pinned them down for over 20 hours, destroyed 34 of the vehicles in their 40 vehicle convoy, "won" the ground and collected a bunch of abandoned "gheema".

The "elite" Iraqi unit already knew the area was not "secure" when they started taking harassing fire on the outskirts, did not put out a flanking force as the street narrowed, did not have a forward recon element, and did not have "dismounts" out to sweep the rooftops, houses and windows.

Yeah I know the story that were being told about that incident. That does not change my statement at all. These terrorists cant even take out a lone convoy in their own backyard. Makes me wonder how much hyped all these guys involved are.
