Politico: Electors demand intelligence briefing before Electoral College vote
The request represents the latest effort by Democratic electors to look to the Electoral College as a possible bulwark against a Trump presidency.
In its first show of public support for efforts questioning the legitimacy of Donald Trump's victory, Hillary Clinton’s campaign said it is supporting a request by members of the Electoral College for an intelligence briefing on foreign intervention in the presidential election.
“The bipartisan electors' letter raises very grave issues involving our national security,” Podesta said in a statement Monday. “Electors have a solemn responsibility under the Constitution and we support their efforts to have their questions addressed.”

WNU Editor: This story just verifies to me on how "freaked out" the Washington political establishment and the main stream media are of Donald Trump. And it is bi-partisan. On the one side we have Senators like Senator McCain and Senators Graham who are looking at evry opportunity to neuter Presdeint-elect Trump .... and on the other side .... we are seeing abject panic and fear in the Democrat party and their allies in the main stream media. But here is the kicker .... Donald Trump is not the President until 5 weeks from now. One can only imagine how Washingtion and the media will respond when that becomes reality.

Well, how big a safe space can you build in 5 weeks?
What good is an intelligence briefing? Given their poor track record in the past, how can anything they say be trusted?
If such a briefing were to occur, we would need the reports of the FBI as well. The FBI comes to a different conclusion than the CIA. It would seems reasonable to want all information put forth or do they want to "cherry pick" the data that serves their interests? It seems the Bush Administration was accused of doing this.
Today G W Bush and his team are the most hated people in America. It would seem team Clinton is no better and perhaps much worse. Such behavior towards the Russians of making such wild and reckless allegations is unlikely to help in mending relations with them. Mending relations with Russia is the single most important foreign policy goal that the next Administration will face. To say that efforts to undercut that by wild and reckless allegations are not helpful is an understatement.
What if the Russians did intervene? They exposed the blatant corruption of the Democrats in multiple ways. It would seem we owe them a debt of gratitude. Perhaps they are trying to extend us an olive branch. We are going to need their assistance in a multitude of ways in the coming years if we are to properly represent our interests. It would probably be wise on our part to accept such an olive branch.
So far POTUS elect has selected a number of team members who have had good relations with Russian leadership and others are being proposed such as the Secretary of State who have such good relations. In order to achieve the kind of relations we are going to need with them, it is going to be important to have people in the appropriate positions that the Russians trust.
If they would prefer Trump, I don't see a problem with this. Furthermore it seems a prudent move to select people for important positions that have or have had good working relations with them. This would give an accommodation with them a far better chance of success.
If relations with Russia can be improved, this should make things allot better for everyone. Undermining these efforts with reckless allegations is not going to be helpful.
The disparity between the CIA/DIA and the FBI is fairly easily explained,
- the DIA/CIA are "offshore" with no mandate for investigations inside the US, that's FBI "turf",
- the DIA/CIA are "intelligence" Organizations, they deal in evidence, probabilities, analysis and possibilities, to give an "opinion",
- the FBI is a "prosecutorial " Organization, they deal in evidence, testimony that will result in a sucessful inditement and prosecution*
( although Comey was full to the brim of allegations and suppositions about Hillary's e-mails that turned out to be nothingburger).
The Senate Intelligence got them all (Alphabet Agencies) together in a room, and they all reccomended the report be made public. The Republican's killed it. So much for Republican Patriotism. They have exposed themselves as either Deep Cover Russian Agents, or willing stooges.
Talk about calling pot calling the kettle black, the US interferes with everyone's elections that they deem is in their interest, so having Russia interfering really is to be expected, as far as the Republicans or Trump being Russian stooges, well I suspect the Russian gov't and their intel agencies are as a big clown act as that of the US, Canada the UK etc and can barely run a 2 house milk route, let alone engineer a political coup like the Dem`s are blathering on about.
