Editor's Note

I mentioned this yesterday, but for the next few weeks blogging will sometimes be absent for about 10 to 12 hours (like today). But this is temporary .... I am right now shedding away a number of my business responsibilities so that I have more time to read, write, consult, and to blog. My deadline is this Christmas Eve .... and by the looks of it I will be successful in achieving this goal. But until then .... sorry for those who need their regular and (hourly WNU) fix .... but blogging will on some days be sporadic.

Japan will never offer an apology for Pearl Harbor nor should it be expected and it generally is not expected. While expected and being demanded by many, the US should not be expected to apologize for Hiroshima, Nagasaki, or the economic embargo against Japan leading up to Pearl Harbor.

The Japanese are 100% correct. We need to move forward and stop looking back. This happened 75 years ago tomorrow. Japan, the United States, and the world are radically different today tgan they were on that day.

While the United States is a very forgiving country and has long forgiven Japan for its actions at Pearl Harbor, I'm under no delusion that the Japanese or the world will EVER forgive the United States for Hiroshima or Nagasaki and the Japanese likely will NEVER forgive the United States for it's actions against their country during WWII.

Perhaps America can take the lead here and point out publically that an apology from Japan for actions so long ago is neither desired nor is it expected. Actually I'm not aware of anyone ever expecting Japan to apologize or seek such an action from the Japanese. In contrast, calls for America to apologize for Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and otber actions against Japan and others are inceasent and almost never ending.
