FOX News: Iran conducts 'war-game' exercises, threatens to shoot down trespassing aircraft
Iran has kicked off a five-day large scale military exercise in the country’s southern region warning that civilian and military aircraft risk being shot down if they stray into Iranian airspace occupied by the drill.
The exercises, codenamed Modafe'an-e Aseman-e Velayat 7 or Defenders of Velayat Skies 7, include air defense drills and various missile, artillery and radar equipment as well as cyber and electronic warfare exercises.

LMAO,

At a minimum, the results of Millennium Challenge 2002 where the "red" team presumably Iran uses assemytrical tactics to defeat the "blue" team presumably the US Navy who is supposedly the "stronger" force should provide a stark lesson against being over confident when facing an enemy during a war.
How this would translate to the real thing is not known at this time. Hopefully we will never know but it is good to be prepared.
Presumably the general in charge of "red" had perfect knowledge of "blue's" strategies and tactics. In all likelihood "blue" was over confident and didn't bother to alter it's strategies and tactics as it should have knowing that "red" has perfect knowledge of it. In contrast "blue" had no knowledge of "red's" tactics or strategies. Essentially "red" knew himself and his enemy. "Blue" perhaps knew himself but not his enemy. In his hubris, did he bother to try and get to know his enemy. This could sell be an affirmation of Sun Tzu's teaching "know yourself, know your enemy, and you will always prevail."
What is troubling but unfortunately not not surprising is the apparent attemps to cover up the results. Essentially the US government has a maddening tendency to underestimate adversaries while overestimating it's own abilities.
I'm not sure the pit bull vs flea is the right analogy. A more accurate analogy may be a pit bull vs a swarm of killer bees? How does the pit bull defend itself against this swarm of killer bees and, if neccessary, kill the bees. To expand on the analogy, people who work with bees wear special gear, as I understand it, that limits the ability of the bees to sting them. People whose job is to kill them use insecticides or other such nethods.
Again, underestimating an implacable enemy is never a good idea. When the commander of "blue" made this mistake fortunately it was only a game. Had it not been a game 20,000 Americans would have died.
