Washington Examiner: Flashback: Obama had three 4-stars on his team and no one seemed to mind
News outlets ran a spate of articles and columns in recent days reflecting a level of anxiety over President-elect Trump choosing a number of retired generals for top positions in his White House.
But in January 2009, President Obama appointed the same number of retired high-ranking officers to posts that Trump has so far.
Trump has reportedly named retired Marine Gen. John Kelly as his secretary of homeland security, which brings the number of retired generals to three. Kelly would join retired Army Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn as national security adviser and retired Marine Gen. James Mattis as secretary of defense.

WNU Editor: I always love these inconvenient truths. But I am still sticking to my position that even though I admire Ret. General Mattis, the head of the Defense Department should be a civilian .... not a retired General.

Technically the current rules are that a general has to be out of the military 7 years before being appointed by the President.
So Obama's 4 generals had to have been out 7 years (unless he got a waiver) and have forgotten stuff per Frank Lapides.

Wow, now I and many others will have to look up Obama's generals and compare them to Trump's generals, because the Left will not let it go.
We have to see how long they were retired and if they did not meet the 7 year rule, if there was the people waiver.
