Iran says to ban U.S. visitors in retaliation to Trump move
DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran said on Saturday it would stop U.S. citizens entering the country in retaliation to Washington's visa ban against Tehran and six other majority-Muslim countries announced by new U.S. President Donald Trump.
"While respecting the American people and distinguishing between them and the hostile policies of the U.S. government, Iran will implement the principle of reciprocity until the offensive U.S. limitations against Iranian nationals are lifted," a Foreign Ministry statement said.
"The restrictions against travel by Muslims to America... are an open affront against the Muslim world and the Iranian nation in particular and will be known as a great gift to extremists," said the statement, carried by state media.

Update #2: Iran will retaliate against Trump's immigration ban by 'limiting visas to American tourists' - as Canadian PM Trudeau says they will take in anyone refused by the U.S. (Daily Mail)
WNU Editor: Am I surprised by President Trump's new immigration rules .... no .... he campaign on it during the primaries and during the election and he is implementing his promise. Am I am surprised by the reaction to it .... again no .... after years of having an essentially open border, the pendulum has gone the other way, and people are reacting to it. As to what is my own take on this debate .... I have always been open for legal immigration (I am after-all an immigrant myself) .... but I have always been in favour of having a vetting process (i.e. criminal background, terror affiliation, sponsors, can they support themselves, etc.) .... as long as it is done thoroughly, properly, and fairly. As to the 7 countries directly impacted .... Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Libya and Yemen .... these countries are war-zones existing in a perpetual state of chaos .... or in the case of Iran .... directly involved in some of these conflicts and/or supporting groups that have been designated as terror organisations (i.e. Hezbollah). We have no idea on who are these people ..... and while the mass majority are (I am sure) decent people .... there are unfortunately many (as Europe has learned in the past year) who are not. A prediction .... these immigration restrictions will just be a start (I expect more countries will be added to the list), and while those with visas will probably still be admitted into the U.S. .... Federal judge stays deportations of travellers in Trump immigration order (The Hill) ..... getting a visa in the future will be very difficult.
Update #3: As a Canadian I have been asked to comment on this .... Trudeau says Canada will take refugees banned by U.S. (PBS). I live a few blocks away from a street of apartments that has become a dumping ground for immigrants to Canada in the past few years, and I have seen over the years the consequence of this policy. Closed stores, racial animosities, high crime, violence, social problems, chronic unemployment, a place that has become a no-go zone for the police unless they come in force. The politicians who are responsible for this policy and the media's reaction has also been interesting .... they choose to ignore it. Case in point .... a few weeks ago an apartment building burned down on this street .... Fire destroys LaSalle apartment building (CTV News) .... what was ignored in the media was that the fire department only showed up if the police were there to protect them (a year before there was another fire at another apartment building on this street, and the firemen were attacked by a Haitian gang because they responded too slow). Now the Canadian Prime Minister has just invited the world to come to Canada .... or more to the point .... to be dumped in even greater numbers in the community that I live in. And while he is now receiving praise by the media, civil rights and immigration groups, the progressive community, etc. .... all accompanied by photos of smiling immigrants at the airport being greeted by the Prime Minister with a big smile (I am seeing this on the news as I write this) ..... all that I can say as I shake my head is that these people do not live in my reality .... far from it.

I didn't know so many Americans were traveling to Iran. What a disaster....sarcasm.
Iraq's mulling over a NGO/Diplomat/Contractor/Energy Industry ban,
and will probably kick out the US military in a few weeks.
Meanwhile, Muslim's in the US and the ROW have gotten Bannon's message loud and clear, don't help the US, don't trust the US.

LMAO, Bannon said he wanted to destroy the US, and he's doing it.
Jay .... I am surprised that U.S. - Iranian coexistence in Syria and Iraq has existed as long as it has. And while Iran has always been well positioned to cause a great deal of grief for the U.S. in this conflicts .... they have chosen not to. There are probably many reasons for this .... Russia saying no, the Iraqi government saying no, Turkey saying no, etc. .... plus the fear that if the U.S. is out, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states would then be given a blank check to cause a great deal of damage against Iran by supporting Sunni rebel groups (ISIS, Al Qaeda-affiliated, or anyone else) in these countries .... in short .... making the entire situation ungovernable. I think on some level many Iranian leaders know that .... even though there are many others who do not care and who believe that a complete military victory and pacification of the Sunni populations are achievable.
That was then, this is now.
Saudi Arabia and the GCC have become not only bogged down in Yemen, but their actual militaries have been exposed as hollow shams.
Syria has shown that the Saudi's and GCC "moderate rebels" arn't moderate, rebels or even Syrian, and can be defeated.
The Saudi's and GCC's petro states are running on fumes, consuming their bankrolls and can't pay their bills.
It's a different world form less than 4years ago.
Meanwhile Bannon's getting his meat puppet Trump, to pick fights with NATO, the EU, all the US's economy's core trading partners, a hot war with China is shaping up, ( with the US's Asia Pacific allies abandoning the US), the UN, and of course, a Crusade against all of Islam, ( except for those doing business with der Furour),
of course, the National Security Council has been Briebarted, with the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Joint Chiefs of Staff out, Bannon and Kurshner in.
On Holocaust Remberance Day, not only did the White House not mention Jews, but they also issued a bunch of EO's copied from Hitler, and the funniest thing is, the Trump Administration has no clue that EO's must conform to US laws, but also have no dollars attached.
It's a different world.
There were 18 million US visits to Iran in 2016.
11 million were buisness travellers.
Doesn't really matter. Most American's never leave the US because the ROW is filled with scary brown people.

Who needs to leave the country when you have Vegas...it's cheaper and less chances of getting bed bugs, though you can get them there too!
LMAO,
Why not the Mall of America?
Or save yourself some money and just visit the Big Billy Beer Can?
Oh no, Americans can no longer visit a third world Islamic theocracy which hangs homosexuals from cranes and subjugates women.. Well there's always NK...
Or Saudi Arabia,
You know, 9/11
This is awesome news!
How ever will Iran get more hostage to put up for ransom if they allow no American to enter Iran?
To bad Iran did not announce this new policy on JAN 20 2009.
The President Obozo would not have felt compelled to give millions for hostage!
Well you know that BamBam was not compelled. He just wanted an excuse to give Iran millions.
Jackass Jay opens up his trap once again and virtue signals his anti-Americanism gain. SHOCKER!
"Doesn't really matter. Most American's never leave the US because the ROW is filled with scary brown people." - Jackass
I happen to be married to a 'brown' person. Does Jackass Jay know how many interracial marriages there are a year in America?
It is meet and proper to criticize NATO.
(1) The other NATO countries are literally violating the law in not funding their militaries.
(2) The majority of NATO countries have joke militaries. It is called cost shifting. It is what Euro-socialists do.
