Terror Attack In Quebec City -- News Roundup

CBC News: Quebec City mosque attack suspect Alexandre Bissonnette charged with 6 counts of 1st-degree murder

Facebook group described Bissonnette as having 'pro-Le Pen and anti-feminist positions'

WNU Editor: A lot of details have still not been made public on the person who is responsible for these horrific crimes .... but what we do know is what I outlined yesterday .... a French Quebecer who harbours a deep hatred towards visible minorities who are not French Quebecers. And what is particularly sad about this story is that the men who were killed in this terror attack represent the best of the immigrant community in Canada. All of these victims are/were success stories who had loving families .... who came to Canada for a better life and who fulfilled their goals of becoming citizens that Canada is proud to have .... and now everyone is grieving. This blog covers wars and conflicts around the world .... it is a different story when I cover what is happening in my backyard. My prayers are for the families who lost their loved ones .... and for those whose loved ones are still in hospital. On a side note, I promised last night to give an explanation on why this terror attack happened in Quebec .... and how Quebec nationalism may have played a role. But not tonight .... my anger on what happened is still there and any commentary from my part will be clouded by my hatred on what this killer did. And while I do know that some in the Canadian media are trying to tie President Trump and France's Le Pen to these killings because of some Facebook postings that the killer did .... I also do know that the killer was an admirer of the Pope ..... which these same pundits are conveniently choosing to ignore because it does not fit their narrative. But like I said .... if I am up to it I will provide a more comprehensive commentary in the next day or two.

I read that 6 months ago there was a pig's head left at the mosque entrance. Were there any cameras installed and why wasn't this mosque being monitored more closely by the police/security personnel? Just so sad!!!

Neighborhood was also postered going back 2 years.

There are security cameras inside and out,

But, you have to keep in mind that sadly, the Police are part of the "core" of the "community", and as a result, there have been complaints going back to the mosque's founding, that the Police and City have not done "enough" to protect the mosque and community.

In Vancouver, back in the late '80's and early '90's, the Police and City were "less than useless" when the neo-nazi gangs started to target minorities. Change only happened when "Civil Patrols" formed, and put the hate crimes front and center, and SAR and the Anarchists formed "flying patrols" and started targetting the neo-nazi's, and when the neo-nazi's started to fund by cornering the meth trade, gun running and started shooting cops.

Just like sex assaults were ignored until the Guardian Angels formed, and patrolled the night club districts and transit.

Thank you for the links Jay. As you know I have been warning about this for a long time .... even a day before Sunday's horrific attack. In the suburb of Montreal where I live there has been numerous attacks with graffiti on buildings that cater to minorities AND the English community .... including an Anglican church not far from where I live. The Canadian media is pushing this "extreme right wing" angle to the story today .... but it is not that. We are both old enough to know that Quebec has a long and ugly history of nationalism that has caused great harm to this province since the FLQ crisis in 1970 .... and it is coming back .... festering and growing in the past few years as Canada permits more immigrants to settle in this country. In certain ways Quebec's nationalists remind me of today's Ukrainian nationalists .... their xenophobic and intolerant behavior disgusts me .... and what scares me is that in both countries their support base is far greater than what is acknowledged.

In the coming days there will be a great outpouring of sympathy from Quebecers and Canadians on what has happened .... and deservedly so. But I have lived here long enough to know that in many homes of this province there are many who wish that all Quebecers who are not white and French are kicked out of this province .... whether through rigid language laws, laws targeting certain religious and/or cultural minorities, or discrimination in the workplace.

Quebec is basically going through what Bancouver went through back in the '80's, but unfortunately with a long background of White Qubecqois Nationalism.

Quebec get's "first choice" of all refugee's and immigrants, and want's Francophones to keep Quebec Francophone.

Unfortunately, there are very few refugee's or immigrant's from France anymore, the Pied Noir's stopped fleeing decolonialization in the 70's, ( other than Vietnam, but that ended in the '80's),

So now it's Francophone refugees and immigrants from the former French Colonies. The Colonized, not the Colonialists.

As a nation of immigrant's, Quebec has some hard choices to make.

They can maintain the language, "special status" and laws, and learn to live with the new strange foods, music, smells, clothes and customs.

They can abandon their "special status" and become like the rest of Canada,

Or they can abandon immigration and refugees, preserve their special status, and become the English Canada dominated francophone backwater they were until the 1960's.

And yes, ISIS, al Quida et al all have a new recruiting poster and ten's of thousands of "fake news" stories, millions of tweets, facebook pages etc from the Deplorables with which to share and spread on line to recruit with.
