DW: Airstrikes cut water supplies in Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa
To the south of the city of Raqqa, bombs have destroyed two key bridges across the Euphrates River. The bombings likely had a military benefit, but critics say civilians will be the ones hardest hit.
US-led coalition aircraft reportedly destroyed the main water pipeline feeding the Syrian city of Raqqa before dawn on Friday, the so-called "Islamic State's" (IS) de facto capital located in northern Syria.
Two bridges linking the city's southern flank to the countryside were also destroyed during ground-fighting between US-backed fighters and IS militants, observers reported Friday.

If Raqqa falls min the next 3 months Obama will claim credit.
He will say it was planned under his watch.
He won't claim credit for the recent raid in Yemen however.

Of course if Raqqa falls in the next 3 months BHO gets the credit. With him its like "heads I win, tails you lose." The media backs him up on this too.
As for the Yemeni raid, had it been on his watch the media "spin" on this would have been the success of the raid. A high value well defended target was attacked, our forces came away with computer equipment which is what they were seeking, our casualties were minimal, and only one helicopter was lost. Whether or not it was a "success" is not known but his is how it would have been presented. With DJT in office we are treated to endless droning of "what went wrong?"
Of course DJT and his team have known the media is against them. There's no use in them crying about it. What they need to do is focus on doing right by the American people.
America is currently involved in a multitude of unwinnable conflicts. the current American commitment is way beyond what the nations is capable of or should even be reasonably expected to do. At some point DJT or his successor assuming the country survives his term will be tasked with extricating us from this. When they do, they will receive all the "blame" for everything.
Now as Jay might put it simply get out of the way while the stooges destroy themselves. I happen to care deeply about America and wish to avoid this fate for our country. Sooner or later and probably sooner the leadership is simply going to have come around to reality and the work will be on how to extricate ourselves from places like Syria, Iraq, South Korea, Japan, NATO, and a whole host of others. Hopefully this can be done with dignity for the American people and our interests can be somewhat preserved.

Anytime there are civilian casualties there is major blowback against America and we can be assured that Americans somewhere in the world and probably on the US mainland will pay for this with their lives. The Syrian "rebels" have yet to demonstrate why they are worth this inevitable blowback and why is the goal of ousting Assad worth this. As I have patiently pointed out here and elsewhere the ouster of Assad was NEVER going to happen and NEVER will happen. Even if he dies, his handpicked successor or Russia's handpicked successor will simply take his place as the Russians are not and never were going to allow his removal. When unrealistic goals are set, these led to unrealistic strategies which inevitably leads to bad results.
