Washington Post: ‘Nuclear football’ photo taken at Trump’s golf resort puts the Pentagon in an awkward position
It’s unlikely that an Army officer posing for a photograph with a patron at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf resort while apparently carrying the “nuclear football” broke any Defense Department regulations, but doing so has put the Pentagon in an awkward situation, defense officials said.
The image was one of several posted over the weekend by Richard DeAgazio, a retired investor, as the president took phone calls publicly over dinner with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe after North Korea conducted a ballistic missile test Saturday night. The photographs have prompted questions among some national security professionals because it appears Trump and his staff handled a sensitive — and potentially classified — security situation in public.

WNU Editor: I have lost count on how many times I have posted pictures of U.S. servicemen carrying the nuclear football in this blog. So why now the big fuss? Is it because the President is President Trump? This is a non-story but it is carrying a lot of news coverage and commentary (see below).

Dining room of the Mego Lar, NSC emergency meeting conducted in full public, with classified and unclassified documents presented and illuminated by unsecured cell phones,
The question here is one of access - by paying Mar-a-Lago (a Trump business) money, DeAgazio was able to get close enough to the president to pose for photos with one of the president's aides. It's not unusual for the nuclear football holder to be photographed, but it is unusual that he's letting random passerby take selfies with him. Aside from the security risks, there's the corruption question - this is now a known and verified case of someone who pays for a membership at a Trump property getting enough access to pal around with government officials.
However I feel you are pro-trump that does not see all these facts.
There's also that little issue of having a NSC Crisis Meeting in the Winter White House's dining room, in the midst of hundreds of Club Members.
It used to be "hard" for Foreign Spies, now it's play the front 9, spy on the President, finish up on the back 9, then drinks and dinner.
Anon .... I live in the real world. Everyone who operates at this level or who wants to have a contact at this level has paid for that type of access. This is nothing new .... but .... it is news today because of who is the U.S. President. To put it bluntly ... if everyone in government and their contacts outside of government were to be out in jail for doing this .... Washington DC would be an empty place today because everyone would be in jail. So what is my beef .... the selective outrage (like yours) that I am seeing) .... because I certainly did not see it during the Obama administration .... and definitely not in the first 3 weeks of his administration.
Jay. The real scary story is who leaked Flynn's communications with the Russian Ambassador to the press .... and what is going to come out of that. The only ones who could have leaked that transcript are in the U.S. intelligence community ... and the leaker(s) did not even bother to mask that. I noticed that President Trump tried to point this out today .... and I can understand why. For Trump to go to war against the intel community is fraught with risk .... especially since they have made it very clear that they want to take out his administration and to derail his agenda on reforming/changing the intel community. Who President Trump is going to appoint to replace Michael Flynn is going to be very revealing on what will happen next. My brain is telling me that he will raise the white flag and appoint someone who will do nothing. My heart tells me that he will hire someone who will start to purging people .... starting with the entire staff in the NSA who are responsible for monitoring government to government communications. I guess we will know in the coming days.
Yea its funny to hear the facists, nazi, squawking birds on here jump at every chance to act like he is doin anything different than anyone els did in the past. It jus shows how low u guys are trying to reach from.

There is no such thing as a private phone call with the Russian Ambassador to the United States on a non-secure line. There's gonna be about 45 different agencies listening in, only 17 are American.
The content's of the phone call, while "troubling", are only illegal under the Logan Act, which is a joke law, nobody's tried to ise since WWII, because it's completely unconstiutional.
When asked about the call , by the FBI New York Office, in regards to the "Russian Connection Investigation",
( the same office that leaked Nothingburger daily about Hillary's Emails for almost two years)
Flynn lied.
When asked about it by the DOJ,
Flynn lied.
When asked about it by the VPOTUS,
Flynn lied.
When asked about it by the POTUS,
Flynn lied.
When asked about it during his confirmation hearings in the Senate,
Flynn lied.
When asked about it by the Media,
Flynn lied.
And the Russian's ran cover for Flynn's lie.
Now, Gen. Flynn has resigned to spend more time at home with his Conspiracy Theories,
Gaffney at Briebart is touting Gen. Boykin for the vacancy,
And Trump is twittering about "leaks",
LMFAO
Jay. The big problem for Flynn is that if it is proven that he lied to the FBI/DOJ .... there are consequences. His legal problems may just be starting. As to his conversations with the Russian Ambassador .... the Logan Act is a joke .... and the idea that a government official cannot talk details with another government until after a President has been inaugurated never made the sense to me. But the law is the law .... and it has to be respected and not interpreted by who is in power at the time and/or what laws they should follow. As for who did the leaks .... the question has to be asked .... who was to gain most from it .... and it is not hard to figure that one out. Michael Flynn was a threat to only one group .... the intel community that he had wanted to reform and shake-up. As for talk that Lt. Gen. Boykin will be appointed to replace Flynn .... I doubt it. Such an appointment will be an all-out declaration of war against the intelligence community .... and the purges will start with untold consequences. I expect the next National Security Adviser to be someone who is low-key but will advise the President accordingly .... and he will accommodate President Trump's concerns (and gears) about the intel community with stealth and a better strategy.
I meant fears .... not gears.
Chaffney's said that there will be no Ethic's Committee Investigations of the Trump Administration because the POTUS and his office are above the Law.
Jeff Session's isn't going to intervene.
Flynn's safe.
BTW, at the time of the phone call, Flynn wasn't a "Government Official", he was a "private citizen".
It's no surprise that the Republican's and Trump will focus only on the leaks,
And will completely ignore, obscure and try to cover up with Conspiracy Theories the simple fact that The President's National Security Advisor lied to all arms of the Government about an easily provable National Security Issue and the fact that he had become "compromised".
As for the next nominee, could be anyone.
And the leaks will continue unstopped, because there are three competing factions in the White House fighting for control of the easily manipulated President, the White Supremacists, Goldman Sachs, and the Generals/NeoCons.
Leaks will continue from the House and Senate, because there are 3 different Republican Parties fighting over legislation and policy,
And leaks will continue from inside the DOD, the Security Agencies, etc, because some people in those offices take their oath to the Constitution seriously.
Meanwhile the various FBI/CIA Investigations ( The Russian Connection, The Dossier, etc)into Trump and his minions continue quietly with 4 FISA Warrants granted in December.
And the next Nat. Sec could be at this point in time, anybody.
Meanwhile, Alex Jone's and Briebart's new White House Correspondent's are fingering Prebius for the leaks.
Jay.
I thought you were joking about the NSC Crisis Meeting in the Winter White House's dining room ... but you were not.

This is not good.
I will be posting later on this. Spoiling the GF for Valentine's right now.
Don't forget treats for the dogs.
Don't forget to call some of your Russian contacts,
See if there's an opening for getting some "compted" golf in.
; )
I do not know what Alex Jones or Breitbart are saying, but I do know that the role of the Chief of Staff is to run a tight ship, and that he must fulfil the agenda of the President. In this regard .... in view of what has been happening in the past few weeks .... widespread leaks, mucked up in the courts, and losing your National Security adviser .... Prebius is not doing his job.
The GF's Rottie always get a bone from me. :)
And I suspect that there are some .... cough cough .... "Russian golfers and caddies" hanging around the club.
Hello. ..I'd like to check in to your beautiful Mar-a-Lago.. why, yes I made reservations. ..I'm from America *cough cough*...my name? WHyde, I'm Bposter, most American guy there is! RUSSIA IS THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH. . *cough cough* sorry. ..my parrot said that :) which way to the American President, please?
Is Prebius in charge,
Everything so far say's it's President Bannon.
