The Hill: McCain to Trump: Send weapons to Ukraine
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is calling on President Trump to send lethal aid to Ukraine after attacks this week were blamed on Russia-backed rebels.
“In the first of what will be many tests for your new administration, Russia and its proxy forces launched attacks against Ukrainian forces this week, killing at least seven Ukrainian soldiers and wounding dozens more,” McCain wrote in a letter to Trump released Thursday.
“That this surge of attacks began the day after he talked with you by phone is a clear indication that [Russian President] Vladimir Putin is moving quickly to test you as commander-in-chief. America’s response will have lasting consequences.”

WNU Editor: U.S. policy on Ukraine been wrong for as long as I can remember .... and now US Sen. McCain wants to double down in the hope that sending lethal military aid would change the dynamics of this conflict. Sighhhh .... it would not .... far from it.

Actually they are not doing enough son. We need to give the Ukrainian military more until the Russians leave the Donbass. Also, to point this out yet again, the Ukrainians kicked that ass again in Adviika. Every time the so called rebels attack they get their asses checked by the Ukrainian military. Whenever the Russian mouthpieces talk about how the Ukrainians started it, you know the Ukrainians popped them. Whenever the Russians deny they are there, they usually are doing well.
Javelins, digital drones, mothballed MLRS would be a good start
Won't help much.
The US shipped 3 Q-36 Lightweight Counter Mortar Radar systems to the Ukraine and trained the UAF on their use in 2014.
One "fell off a truck" and was irrepairably damaged.
One was shipped to the DPA headquarters, examined and then sent to Russia. Somebody in the UAF got a lucrative early retirement.
The third was at Debatseve, never taked out of it's box, and captured intact.
"Somebody", ( Estonia? Georgia?) shipped a "truckload" (roughly 40) of FGM-148 Javelin's to the Ukraine Armed Forces in 2014, and they conveniently "fell off a truck" in downtown Donetsk.
Wanna bet McCain switches parties?
