Reuters: U.S. senators want say on any Trump Russia sanctions action
Senior U.S. senators called on Wednesday for the right to review any move the White House might make to ease sanctions on Russia, amid mounting concern in Congress - and among U.S. allies - that President Donald Trump will be too conciliatory toward Moscow.
The lawmakers, led by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democrat Ben Cardin, introduced "The Russia Sanctions Relief Act of 2017," modeled on a 2015 bill that let Congress review the Iran nuclear agreement signed by then-President Barack Obama.
Trump's open admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin and promises to rebuild frayed U.S. ties with Moscow have raised questions over his commitment to maintaining sanctions against Russia for its involvement in fighting in Ukraine and annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.

WNU Editor: During the U.S. Presidential election then candidate Trump was very vocal and very clear on what he wanted to do with Russia. Re-establish relations, find common ground, work with Russia against a common enemy like the Islamic State, and find solutions to conflicts like Ukraine. For this outreach he was pilloried by the press, the Democrats, establishment Republicans, and by many American allies overseas. But .... the American voter had a different idea, and they rewarded him by electing him as President and giving him a mandate to implement his agenda. This U.S. Senate attempt is just one more example of what I have noticed since the election .... and that is that there are many in the U.S. .... progressives, Democrats, many Republicans, the media, the foreign policy establishment, and scores of special interest groups .... who just cannot accept the idea that Donald Trump was elected by the American people to be their President, and that he is now following through on his promises to these voters. Here is an easy prediction .... the more that these groups obstruct President Trump, the more the blow-back will be against these groups in the future. As for the U.S. Senate trying to limit President Trump's options when it comes to Russia .... they are not going to succeed.

The Senate might not succeed, as you note, but if both the Dems and the GOP offer stiff opposition to Trump on this issue, he will find himself in a difficult spot for governing.
I agree Fred. That is definitely the plan.
Trump is like the Hulk, the more you attack the angrier and stronger he gets!
