U.S. Special Operations Command launched a raid in Yemen’s Baida Province on Jan 29, targeting Qassim al-Rimi, the leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. The first high-profile special forces operation of Trump’s presidency, the raid resulted in the deaths of at least 14 Al Qaeda fighters, 20 civilians and Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens. Three other Americans were reportedly wounded and an Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft was destroyed by U.S. forces after it was heavily damaged in a forced landing. Over the past few days, it has emerged that al-Rimi survived the raid and he has subsequently released an audio message taunting President Trump.

This is WAY to many deployments. This needs to be scaled back SIGNIFICANTLY.
There are three basic problems that arise when trying to do this. 1.) The debate usually deevolves into hystrtical anti-Americanism and nothing ends up getting done. 2.) Reasonable people have disagreements over which committments need to be scaled back or eliminated and coming to an agreement is problematic. 3.) US special forces are obviously quite good at what they do hence so many people want them in their countries. Americans have great difficulty in telling foreigners NO!!
Meanwhile Australian, British, and German forces were deployed to the U.S. I know I have seen them.
I see Brazil on the list. It was probably a training op.
The U.S. Navy and Marines were deployed to Brazil too. It is called a port call and sometimes join training exercises. They call them UNITAS cruises.
Let's all get worried. If we are really lucky, some of the South American countries send ship up to the States and they spend some $$$ while in port.
Now maybe the Spec Ops trip to Brasil was more than a training op, since the tri-border region is a terrorist hotspot.
