New York Times: No U.S. Military Role in Libya, Trump Says, Rejecting Italy’s Pleas
President Trump said on Thursday that he would not give the American military a direct role in helping stabilize war-ravaged Libya, rejecting years of pleading by Italy for more assistance in stemming African migrant traffic into Europe.
Mr. Trump’s comments came during a White House news conference with Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni of Italy, who implored the United States to step up its “critical” involvement in Libya, a former Italian colony.
“We need a stable and unified Libya,” Mr. Gentiloni, who has been in office since November, said, discussing a conflict that has sent thousands of asylum seekers across the Mediterranean to Italy and other European countries. “A divided country, and in conflict, would make civility worse.”

lol Italy, if you don't like what's happening in Libya get your own a$$ over there
This is a symptom of current democratic governance. Our problem is that we - due to election cycles and the patience of voters (in absence of convincing leaders who have long-term/strategic visions and can communicate them at all levels), are constantly falling in this trap of promising tax cuts, infrastructure spending, unemployment packages, healthcare etc. etc. but then don't have any money, nor will power left to do what's necessary. Also, the UN and NATO being what they are, they are so slow in moving, especially when it's not a clear cut case (like if there's WMDs used on children's hospitals or something of that nature).. Technology and science has moved on so quickly, but our political systems have not. And our adversaries are fully aware of these slow moving beast, which we call our democratic system. It's our biggest Achilles' heel and everyone can see it. Social scientists need to do their job and push for reforms. People are dying because of their lack of imagination (avoiding the word incompetence).
"Social scientists need to do their job and push for reforms"
Sociologists are largely Leftists/liberals/Communists.
They failed with open up-front communism.
They are going to succeed with sneaky, sleight of hand communism?
