Washington Post: Trump says he has no ‘tapes’ of Comey conversations
President Trump said Thursday that he does not have “tapes” of his private conversations with then-FBI Director James B. Comey, finally ending a mystery of his own creation that began last month when he suggested that he had privately recorded their talks.
Trump on May 12 floated the idea he had an audio record of their conversations, apparently as a way to intimidate Comey. For five and a half weeks, the president and senior White House officials refused to tell the public whether such tapes exist.
But after an inquiry from congressional investigators about the tapes, Trump tweeted Thursday, “I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings.”

What Trump did was "Watch the birdie" and the MSM fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Trump said there might be tapes and he was not under oath being examined or cross examined by an officer of the court.
Shumer and all the other Democrats had known since early March that Trump was not under investigation. They had heard this multiple times.
Yet Schumer (Schumer means worthless person in Yiddish BTW; how apropos) and others made many statements to the press about Trump being under investigation.
Trump wanted this knowledge to be public, so the DemoKKKrats could not lie as much.
So he said there might be tapes, Comey panicked, and felt that he had to come clean.
