SKY News: Iran warns US to 'disassemble military bases within 1,000km' over sanctions
The warning was reportedly made in response to new US sanctions over Iran's ballistic missile programme.
The leader of Iran's Revolutionary Guard has warned the US to move its military bases from within 1,000km of the country.
Mohammad Ali Jafari is said to have made the remarks in response to new US sanctions over Iran's ballistic missile programme.
"If the United States wants to pursue sanctions against Iran's defences and the Guards, then it has to move its regional bases to a distance of about 1,000 km (620 miles) around Iran," he was quoted as saying by state TV.
The US should also "be aware that it would pay a high price for any miscalculations", he said.

Tell salami to get back on the rye, build 3 more bases overnight and send a reply "NUTS"
Go for it Iran
Fazman,
Perhaps the bases need to be there. Perhaps they don't. This may be a matter of reasoned debate.
What is clear is America due to its current economic situation, debt situation, and the worn down nature of its military cannot continue to have troops and military equipment all around the world. What I would prefer is some type of deal with Russia and China who are Iran's biggest supporters, especially Russia who appears to be Iran's biggest supporter, whereby the assist us with the Iranian problem or withdraw support from them. Even merely withdrawing support from them would make it easier for us to deal with the Iranian problem.
Obviously we are going to need to make concessions elsewhere to Russia and china elsewhere. Unfortunately making any kind of concessions to Russia these days gets one branded a traitor in the media, by crazy democrats, and some republicans. As long as Iran has Russian support, our options are very, very limited. As for sanctions all they accomplish is make people angry, hasten the inevitable end of the dollar's role as world reserve currency, and undermine any efforts to achieve a "soft landing" when it does happen.
Very respectfully your remarks seem a bit superficial. As of now, Aussies face no significant danger. When it starts being the heads of Aussies on the chopping block, perhaps you will be a bit more circumspect before making such comments without thinking this through.
Ots a matter of calling the bluff and the empty words of these authortarian regimes.
He is making a direct threat to the u.s, do you suggest every nation kowtow to those far weaker than them?
Exactly, maybe eastwood should record the reply

You are not in the crosshairs
But when you are it will be too late and you have better smile for your masters.
A++ Poster said fazman was Australian.
I forgot the quotes for the 2nd post, but I accurately translated the post.
The Austrian Hungarian Empire was a central European Empire that got kicked out of the north by Prussia. Hungary straddles Central Europe and Eastern Europe. They are or were Roman Catholic. They are also no southern Slavic.
a++ Poster say's lot's of shite,
