No,it fled northbound towards the Turkish territorial waters
- and then the captain posted a series of pics purportedly of the bullet holes on the superstructure.
And remains to be seen whether the Tur Coast Guard followed through with the demand to investigate

I checked out your twitter thingy, I'm just bad at translation.
Considering this guy's (the captain) history, I'd bet he has an in with the Turkish Coast Guard or with powers above that. I know a little about the incident but not much. He must have been close to Turk waters to start with, I wonder if he was underway with a loaded ship or empty?

Your assumptions are probably true - and the distance from the Tur territorial waters is roughly 5 miles there.

What we know so far is that the vessel was loaded, and the next day it departed from Marmaris, entering Gr territorial waters and mooring outside Simi island - by which time, there was no point in boarding it (?)
My assumption is it was a staged event to create an incident
Will be tracking the outcome, be sure of that

Quite probably a "tag o war" for GR territorial waters, whose limits TUR continuously
keeps ignoring , just to boost Erdo's latest status as an overlord in the region.
Even the Lausagne treaty of 27 has been disputed recently as unfair to TUR

Yeah, I could see that. Do you think Erdogan is very much involved in the seaborne immigrants the Greeks have been getting?
Also, it seems to me that Erdogan's recent behavior has perhaps strengthened Greece's position in their financial dispute with the EU.

He not only is involved, but makes it blatantly clear that he controls the flows
- maybe too clear for his best interests.
And the NATO joint force is recording
As for the dispute you mention, the general consensus here is that lots of reforms have to be made in order to put our mess in order.
Essentially, the belief here is that we are the EU, good or bad.
No detours here
