Is The Trump-Russia Collusion Story Dying?
Ed Rogers, Washington Post: The quest to prove collusion is crumbling
While everyone is fixated on President Trump’s unbecoming and inexplicable assault on Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the media has been trying to sneak away from the “Russian collusion” story. That’s right. For all the breathless hype, the on-air furrowed brows and the not-so-veiled hopes that this could be Watergate, Jared Kushner’s statement and testimony before Congress have made Democrats and many in the media come to the realization that the collusion they were counting on just isn’t there.
As the date of the Kushner testimony approached, the media thought it was going to advance and refresh the story. But Kushner’s clear, precise and convincing account of what really occurred during the campaign and after the election has left many of President Trump’s loudest enemies trying to quietly back out of the room unnoticed.
Cable news airtime and in-print word count dedicated to the nonexistent collusion story appear to be dwindling. Democrats and their allies in the media seem less eager to talk about it, and when they do, they say something to the effect of “but, but, but … Kushner didn’t answer every question … He wasn’t under oath … There are still more witnesses … What about this or that new gadfly?” They are stammering. And it hasn’t taken long for news producers and editors to realize that the story is fading.

WNU Editor: This story is far from finish .... there is after-all Robert Mueller's Special Commission and his army of "Democrat" lawyers who are investigating everything. But from a media point of view the intensity for this story has been dying for the past two months (summer-time blues?), and unless something new pops-up, will continue to lose public interest and news coverage.
Update: Another thing .... the above commentary was posted in the Washington Post!!!! Do they know something that we do not?

Pres. Trump is the real victim here. I fear for his mental wellness.
Or what's left of it. Which isn't much.
Anon,
To be subjected to this kind of abuse would take its toll on anyone. As to whether or not he is a "victim", I cannot say. Perhaps something will come up. If it does, the media may have already overplayed its hand and no one will take it seriously.
We have a special commission headed by a good friend of James Comey whose team consists of partisan democrats. It's hard to imagine any smart person or non ideologically blinded person taking any thing they come up with seriously. Unfortunately some are ideologically blinded and others are not smart.
Now had there been something wouldn't we have heard about by now? Wouldn't the special counsel's office have leaked it further damaging POTUS? DJT is like a bull in a China closet. Such people cannot keep secrets or cover their tracks covertly if their lives depended upon it. As such, in a saner world, this entire investigation would have been shut down long ago.

The Alt-Reich House version of "Survivor, Potomac Edition" has pushed Trump/Russia off the Front Page,
LMFAO,

Yes he is as the Washington Post points out .... but as I said .... the Washington Post made the decision to post the story .... not Breitbart .... and that is what surprised me.
So, you've never heard of bothsiderism in the US Media,
Strange,

LMFAO,
"Scaramucci also told me that, unlike other senior officials, he had no interest in media attention. “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” he said, speaking of Trump’s chief strategist. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.” (Bannon declined to comment.)"

No need to be condescending.
I have heard of bothsiderism.
But I rarely find it being practised which is why I was surprised by the Washington Post.
Funny, driftglass finds it every day.
LMFAO
And that's just politics,
Driftglass?!?!?!
Please .....
LMFAO,
Yup, driftglass, calling out "bothsiderism" and other shit accurately since 2002,
LMFAO,
Still, 14 years later, no flowers and parades in Iraq,

The madness of politics as it is today and the divide it's created, the hate, the name calling , the lies and propaganda coming from the political weasels, will lead civil war at some point, since as it is very plain in the comments sections here and almost everywhere else the left/right have stop listing to each other, believing in only their pile of shit. The way Trump is attacked by the left is just as disgraceful as the way Obama was attacked by the right, it's looking a lot like Germany in the 1920's when the Wiemar Republic was torn apart by the extremist on the left and right, as we all know that didn't end well.
TWN,
I agree with your assessment, there will be civil war in America and I think in the UK. But the UK will have an Islamic element along with the left/right paradigm. It is unstoppable and is slowly unfolding right before our eyes! I think the right will win in America but some states may be lost, California being the most likely. But the UK is definitely going to Balkanise. Londonistan will break away into some leftist/Islamic statelet; maybe other cities will follow suit. But rule of law in the cities is already a joke and people are really angry.
