President Donald Trump spoke to reporters off the record Wednesday aboard Air Force One on his way to Paris to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and participate in Bastille Day festivities. In an unusual episode, the White House on Thursday released its transcript of some of his comments, after Trump asked a reporter in Paris why she hadn’t reported on what he’d said the night before. He's going to use trade?!!? The US needs "made in China" right now far more than China needs "sold to USA." China has to be laughing hysterically at such nonsense.
"The dealmaker" is having trouble. He has always negotiated from a stronger position than the other party he was negotiating with/against. Now that he is POTUS, he is having to negotiate with people/powers that are stronger than he is. When negotiating and your position is weak relative the other party, the strategies employed are going to be much different than when negotiating from a position of strength.
POTUS is having trouble grasping this as I suspected he would. If he and the USA are to succeed, he and other US leaders are going to need to figure this out.
