RT: Sanctions retaliation: Russia tells US to cut embassy staff, stop using storage facilities
Moscow has told the US to reduce the number of its diplomatic staff in Russia to 455 people, and is also halting the use of embassy storage facilities in the capital, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The retaliatory move comes after the US Congress approved new sanctions against Russia.
“The Russian side is suspending the use of all storage facilities on Dorozhnaya Street in Moscow, and a cottage in Serebryaniy Bor by the US Embassy in Russia as of August 1,” the ministry said in a statement.
The number of US diplomatic service staff in Russia should be reduced to equal the number of Russian diplomats in the US by September 1, Moscow says.

WNU Editor: What's next? Both sides are going to take a break for a few weeks .... enjoy the summer .... and hope that a crisis that will involve both countries will not happen. As to what do I expect .... Ukraine/Syria/Afghanistan/etc. .... any of these hot-spots can (and probably will) explode, and having bad relations is not going to help the situation.

There is no more hope for a unique opportunity for both countries.
Jack,
You may well be correct, however, I refuse to give up hope just yet. Based upon everything I have read DJT still has the option to veto the bill. Unfortunately based upon everything I have read Congress would override the veto and this does not appear to be the path he seems inclined to take, again based upon what I am reading.
While, as of now based upon what I am aware of, he has not committed to sign the bill. Some indications are he wants a tougher bill. This would be akin to tripling down on stupidity. With that said media misdirection on the part of team Trump is not unprecedented.
If he vetoes the bill, what becomes of Mr. Trump? It probably would not be pretty. Either the political elite has gone insane similar to how Germany went insane against the Jew. Substitute Jew for Russian and the propaganda is not much different. Given that America has been subjected to vicious propaganda against it throughout its history, one would think our political elite and media elite would know better than to inflict it on someone else. The other possibility is the political and media elite are so petrified of the Clintons that they'd do anything to not find themselves on the receiving end of their attacks even to the point of risking war with a nuclear armed super power for no good reason.
If it does come down to increased tensions in Cold War 2, due to the nature of Russia's alliances, their economic model, superior intelligence services, superior cyber warfare capabilities, better trained and better led military forces, and America's massive national debt America is going to be at a decisive disadvantage. In all likelihood, they will step up support for anti-American proxies, step up cyber attacks, and in general make it to costly for anyone to ally with us wearing us down to the point where we can no longer fight. This is the best case scenario. It gets worse from there. Americans should not way we were not warned of the consequences.
I think a POTUS vetoing bill that so obviously appears to be naked aggression against Russia and the Russian people in the face of stiff and unreasonable opposition even if he is powerless to stop it would go a long way towards helping to improve relations mid to long term.
Sometimes men and women of good conscience must step up and do the right thing in the face of unrelenting opposition. This is Mr. Trump's time. Perhaps God put him on earth for a time such as this and he and we are being tested. Will he do the right thing and veto this bill? I have sent messages to him as Americans are entitled to do. I would encourage other Americans to do the same.
Who knows with a reasonable position toward Russia we might even be able to get them to withdraw support from Iran and North Korea and might even be able to procure their assistance. If we can, curtailing them becomes much less difficult.
This is the stupid price we are paying for the HRC disinformation campaign gone off the tracks.
LMFAO,
You arn't going to get a US/Russian reset by caving in to Russia and allowing the Putin/FSB/Mob Alliance free access to the West to launder looted Russian assets and the FSM to murder Russian dissenter's and whistleblowers in the West with impunity.

PUTIN NEEDS SOME FINANCIAL HELP
Jay,
No one said anything about "caving in" to anyone. What has been suggested is treating others especially a military super power with respect. Any crimes the Russian leadership may have committed and murders of those who dissent are like a drop of water to the ocean of such things committed by the US government.
Thanks for the link. I will check it out time permitting. While Putin's methods may not be approved of, again the US is far worse, he and his government have been the victim of one of the more vicious disinformation campaigns in history. When journalists and other "dissenters" choose to get in bed with a nation's enemies, they should not be surprised when they experience "blow back."
Fred,
Putin is the richest man in the world. Forbes had this pegged right when it named him the most powerful man in the world. He isn't really worried about your article. Besides as has been said point the finger at someone and have three pointing back at you. The US government is in no position to sit in judgment of anyone at this juncture. Besides the ultimate looters today is the US government and their enablers. The Russians may simply be trying to protect their hard earned income.
Besides all of that we aren't in a very good position to confront Putin or Russia right now. All sanctions will accomplish is to drive the Russian people further into the arms of Putin or into the arms of someone even worse and even more anti-American. Sanctions haven't worked, endless color revolutions against those non hostile to Russia haven't worked, and funding of NGOs dedicated to overthrowing the Russian government have not worked.
A change in approach is needed. Treat Russia as an equal and treat them with respect and we have a chance to get somewhere. Doing so does not mean caving in to Russia. There will be areas we can find common ground and there will be areas where will not be able to.
Jim,
You may well be correct. Disinformation campaigns have a habit of doing this. Perhaps US politicians and the media fear Clinton reprisals so much they will say or do just about anything. Given so much disinformation, it is hard to trust anything they come up with now. Besides US government officials accusing Russia of promoting instability or murdering dissenters is just priceless and if not so serious would actually be quite funny. The other possibility is these people have simply gone crazy and are so delusional that they no longer understand anything.
Sorry about the multiple posts. Before the US imposed sanctions on Russia over the chump government/coup that is Ukraine's Kiev government there was a nascent pro-"west", anti-Putin opposition. The sanctions cut the legs out from under them and drove the Russian people into the arms of Putin further undermining US interests and any hopes for change in Russia. Imposing additional sanctions will only make things even worse for America. Even the current "dissenters" and "whistleblowers" will become anti-American and if Putin is deposed the next Russian leadership will be even more hardline than the current one if these policies are continued. Insanity defined is doing the same things over and over again expecting different results.
There Jay goes again, more LMFAO whilst referencing Buzzfeed, The Onion, etc. and spewing up verbal diarrhea.
You are a far-left political zealot. You wasted your life and are now too old to make any change in the world so you troll WNU.
Take a seat Jay. Breath, check in to an old folks home and be forgotten.
LMFAO,
I'm so sorry that I'm so insignificant, that you had to take time out from your busy schedule of 4chan, Infowars and Stormfront,
Not to refute,
Not to actually comment on the thread, or the subject,
Just to try to insult me,
LMFAO
I wouldn't be surprised if you have an alert app on your phone for every time someone comments on a WNU post so that you can stop what you are doing to LYFAO alone and spew more verbal diarrhea in the comments.
Your always attacking everyone who brushes against your increasingly frail and aging bubble. You have even attacked the WNU editor, who adds more value here than anyone. The idea that I am going to cite an example of your incompetence in socializing or making a cogent or sound argument online is worthy of a solid LMFAO session on my part, but I will refrain. Just pick any of your past comments as precedent.
How old are you by the way? Have a wife or Kids? I see you have two dogs. I wonder who will care for them once you go to bed one night expecting your sun to rise the following day. Thankfully they aren't cats I guess; cats are usually the first of the two species to begin eating their owners an average of 2 days after his/her death. Take a seat Jay. Get some sleep.
Are you a baby sitter? You know a lot of things
