WNU Editor: This is actually not a laughing manner. I know too many friends who have experienced a marriage break-up .... a lot of pain .... and if children are involved .... an experience that is 1000x worse. And as for the media putting the spotlight on these cases .... I am willing to bet that there were other reasons for these break-ups .... and politics was probably the least of them.

It's gotten to this point where families are starting to divide, that is really interesting, I wonder how far spread this is, are brothers, fathers and mothers also dividing? Something to watch I think.

I remember an 05. It came up that he listened to Rush Limbaugh (soon after Maha Rushie after leaving Sacramento), while driving to a new duty station. He like it. His wife did not.
He did not listen to it thereafter.
IMO these women are nuts.
Mine choices the vacations, the house, when to buy the house, the orientation of the house, etc. (House hunting using the principles of Feng shui is freaking hard. From the get go 75% of the houses are off limits.).
They do not get to dictate my political views or my career although we do discuss them from time to time.
My brother is now a California liberal. His wife .... LOL .... hardcore progressive who despises me because I do not embrace her views. It does not bother me .... except when they visit and she raids my wine cellar without telling me. Grrrr....
Living in Montreal .... almost all of my friends are liberals. Correction .... all of my friends are liberals or progressives. But living in paradise is getting harder with each passing day .... and I have noticed that it is starting to strain marital ties. They all hate Trump .... but when I ask for their opinion on policies (without saying that these are policies that Trump agrees with) .... they support or vouch for it. Go figure. Fortunately .... when it comes to politics they all leave me alone .... I always use my knowledge of history and personal experience to back my point of view which I`ve noticed over the years ticks people off. :)

She has had hard life .... not surprising .... I would now label her a realist (i.e. a classical liberal/conservative). We talk politics and share our differences, but we never argue.
In Russia .... a totally different story. Politically/ideologically .... most people are now ideological conservative when it comes to politics, economics, and social issues. Marital/relationship problems are mainly caused by money/alcohol abuse/drifting apart/etc. .... not politics.
