OTTAWA — A reported multi-million-dollar payout from the Canadian government to former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Omar Khadr could create an opportunity for the widow of a man Khadr was convicted of killing in a firefight to seek compensation.
Tabitha Speer could “absolutely” go after Khadr’s assets once he has some, said Howard Anglin, a former deputy chief of staff and legal advisor to Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper.
Khadr sued the Canadian government for wrongful imprisonment after a Supreme Court decision in 2010 found his rights were violated, with Canadian officials complicit in his imprisonment and alleged torture at the U.S.’s infamous Guantanamo Bay prison.

WNU Editor: The ugly truth is that supporters of Omar Khadr do not like to focus too much attention on this part of the story .... they prefer to focus on what the Canadian government did and their complicity on how Omar Khadr was treated in Guantanamo .... and not on Omar Khadr's terrible crimes .... even though he was a child soldier when he committed them. This is very unfortunate .... because there is never any healing if this is the approach that is pursued .... for both Khadr and for the Speer and Morris families .... never.

There is a term I am sure you have heard. It is called 'process monkey'.
If "the ends justify the means" is at one end of a scale, then being a being a process monkey is at the other end.
I would think legalists are process monkeys.
Legalists have been around since the 1st Chinese Empire. The son or grandson of the 1st emperor fell victim to the laws of process monkeys. That is he did not have his travel pass and so that was that.
