U.S. Director Of National Intelligence: 'Agencies Agree On Russian Meddling'

NBC: Intelligence Director Says Agencies Agree on Russian Meddling

ASPEN, Colorado — Daniel Coats, the director of national intelligence, said Friday there is no dissent inside U.S. intelligence agencies about the conclusion that Russia used hacking and fake news to interfere in the 2016 presidential election — despite comments by his boss, President Donald Trump, that have seemed to cast some doubt about the unanimity.

In an interview with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt at the Aspen Security Forum, Coats said that the reason only four of 17 intelligence agencies signed onto the January assessment describing the Russian effort is that the other agencies were not involved in gathering and analyzing the intelligence.

On July 5, Trump suggested that there had been a misunderstanding of the extent to which the assessment was endorsed by the entire American spy apparatus.

“Let me just start off by saying I heard it was 17 agencies,” Trump said when asked about the intelligence assessment. “I said, ‘Boy, that’s a lot.’ Do we even have that many intelligence agencies, right? Let’s check it. And we did some very heavy research. It turned out to be three or four — it wasn’t 17 — and many of your compatriots had to change their reporting, and they had to apologize, and they had to correct.”

This does not answer my question.
Your statement:
".fact: intel no longer gives a real hoot about Trump nor do they trust him."

I believe it was fred that said Intel no longer gives a hoot or something to that affect. I made that assumption. Is there proof? Could there ever be for that sort of thing? Think the head of NSA would say We No longer give a darn about our president? nope. But if You worked at top job doing intel, and you saw your president handing over highly classified stuff to Russian, would you be indifferent. If you had strong suspicion that Trump overly friendly with an known adversary, would you be a bit suspicious about what you gave him, did with serious info, etc? I seriously doubt it. On that, my own, very own feeling, I made the assumption that intel is a bit reticent about their top guy and what he is to be given...A guess at best. But a sensible one, I think

So you do not know it is a fact.

have you been authorized by this witness to make this public statement?

Interesting topic. An opinion is presented as a fact. While the opinion is reasonable given the ideological direction of US (un)intelligence, we do not "know." As such, it probably should not be presented as fact.

Personally, if I worked at a top job doing intel, I've seen my bosses going out of their way to foment conflict with Russia for the last twenty years or so. I would be relieved to have a POTUS who has or might have the potential to improve relations with Russia and who treated them with decency and respect.

Lester Holt. What can I say....couldn't lead a pack of hungry wolves to a pile of raw meat. This story is old
And no longer has bearing.

Note to left wing dipshits - Russia has been "meddling" in US elections for decades. They have never effected the outcome of one. Unless you count Obama '12 - but he was laughed off as a lightweight from the go.

What was Einstein's definition of insanity? Oh yeah - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Libtards: Losing since 2010.

/and I can't think of ONE of these intel chiefs who has NOT said that there is NO EVIDENCE Russia manipulated the election in favor of Trump.
