CNN: US warships begin Hurricane Irma relief operations
Washington (CNN)The US military began supporting relief operations for Hurricane Irma on Thursday as helicopters deployed from the USS Wasp amphibious warship started assisting with damage assessment and medical evacuations for critical care patients from St. Thomas to St. Croix, according to US Northern Command.
The USS Wasp was the first Navy ship to arrive in the US Virgin Islands and is providing medium and heavy lift helicopters to transport people and supplies, the service said in a statement.

when will folks wake up to the serious changes being made from climate change? The Pentagon has some time ago viewed these changes as a serious threat to national security, and we are told Trump listens to his generals. Now, for example, post this hurricane, tsunami, water, evacuation stuff, Houston, and Florida will face a new future: would you retire to Florida in the near future? What of real estate vaulues and the rising waters already noted in Miami region? Is there no long range planning other than rebuild, patch, continue as things were?
