BBC: Rohingya crisis: Myanmar rebuffs rebel ceasefire
Myanmar has brushed off a one-month unilateral ceasefire announced by a Rohingya militant group in Rakhine.
The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (Arsa) announced a truce on Sunday, urging Myanmar's army to lay down weapons as well.
But government spokesman Zaw Htay said Myanmar would not negotiate with "terrorists".
About 294,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh since violence erupted in Rakhine state last month.

They are getting the worst of it ... the need a breather ... they need time to rest & reload.
The only unilateral ceasefire that I know of that is or was legit was the one by the ETA.
They did not want to be lumped in with the Neanderthals.
You'd think a Buddhist led ethnic cleansing of Muslims from Burma/Myanmar would generate more domestic coverage (in North America).
And Aung San Suu Kyi (PM of Myanmar) is a Nobel prize for peace winner. For "Peace". Stuff makes ya go Hmmmm...

How well did AP, UPI, Reuters carry the story? Was it a one-off? How did the rank the story? Was it ranked up there or was it buried? Did the news retailers (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox, MSLSD) carry the story? Did they bury the story? How did the rank it?
My question is why did Kyi pick Kofi Annan?
- Was it because Ban Ki Moon has a full time job and Kofi being retired can devote his full energy to it?
- Did she not trust Ban Ki Moon?
- Did she speak to Kofi because she knows him but not Ban Ki Moon?
What about the Saudi $$$ entering this conflict.
