President Bernie Sanders In 2020?

The Zogby Poll finds voters felling the Bern. Sen. Bernie Sanders is the early favorite among 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls.

Washington Examiner: The upcoming 2020 Democratic presidential is Sen. Bernie Sanders' to lose, according to a new election poll.

Sanders has a huge lead over rivals Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Vice President Joe Biden, both of whom are eyeing a bid.

The dark horse appears to be Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a media and Clinton favorite, is dead last with just 1 percent supporting his candidacy in the Zogby Analytics survey of likely Democratic primary voters provided exclusively to Secrets.

I also hope not. He's a nice enough guy but he's delusional and promises you everything for free and blames businesses for everything. Also whenever he talks about Europe and how we do things over there he just shows how clueless and uninformed he is. He's just repeating things he's heard and that sound good and US students eat it up when they hear it, because let's face it, most of them haven't been to Europe and are clueless too about what it takes and what things cost.

The interesting bit though is that Zuckerberg already has 7%. That is pretty good, considering he can run anytime now until maybe 2050. He's probably too young now, but maybe in 2020 or 2024. And he's got the cash. AND he's got social media ;) So yeah, expect President Zuckerberg at one point - unless he doesn't want to. It's his to loose.

I hope not too, however, had the Democrats not been foolish enough to force Hilliary on us by any and all means necessary we would be looking at president Bernie Sanders right now.

Like it or not politically America is left of center. It could be that Americans need to experience the horrors of communism first hand before they will learn. Bernie Sanders would have easily beaten Donald Trump or any other Republican candidate.

Sometimes nations have to give Communism a try so they can taste the full range of flavours that Mass Povert.... I mean Communism has to offer.

this talk about communism is stupid. Berny is hardly even a real socialist let alone a communist, and the notion that America is going turn toward communism is plain dumb. That said, are we happy with all the promises and changes promised by Trum?

Fred,

Not a supporter of either party at this point, but Sanders is an admitted socialist on 4 occasions during interviews and his policies directly coincide with socialist framework. He was also a member of the American Communist party during our tiff with the soviets for about a decade. Democracy is one vote away from fascism or communism and the tone of todays politics, especially with the younger generations, favor bigger government and massive interest in social programs and government intervention in many forms of American life. Supporting Bernie is scarier than Hillary or Trump because he comes of as less harmful than either. At least with Trump or Hillary you've got total polarization and heavy checks and balances to the extent of a frozen political environment. Bernie prays on ignorance which most American voters are afflicted with. Thats bad.

Matthew, I think Fred (and we all) know that. There's however a big difference between a capitalistic socialist and a communist. For example, you have social capitalism in almost all European states. That's what Sanders wants (and to a large part already exists in the US), communism is a while different beast. No one wants that.
