I can't believe that I supported this deceitful blowhard.

WNU Editor: coming from an ICT background, you'll probbaly appreciate this tidbit. I was heavily involved with a number of websites and forums for Trump supporters during the election campaign. Mostly on the strategy and advice side. By one count, we had several million unique users spread across our user base and similar sites' user bases. Our sites were often mentioned in the media. (Never in a good way. Sigh.)

It's hard to conclude that we – that I – didn't have an impact on the election results. I wasn't running the sites, but I did things that helped the sites to stay up instead of closing. (You would not believe how much the Silicon Valley liberals that run most hosts and platforms wanted to shut down Trump supporters online, or the PR traps that the liberal media kept setting for us. So, keeping one step ahead of their antics was a big deal.)

And you know what? I bitterly regret helping Trump, because most of his actions in the past six months were things that could have been expected from a Clinton Administration. I know that most people I was working with on the pro-Trump sites feel the same way as I do, now. Most of us in the online communities liked Trump because he said he wanted to stop the wars, make friends with Russia, rebuild the economy, and control the borders. But to paraphrase the T-shirt slogan: America voted for Trump, but all it got was Hillary's lousy policies.

Merkel is not a key leader.

She is a Don Quixote type.

If the Germans did not have such a guilt complex, they would never put up with the fraulein.

Exactly, trump did not threaten to and will not use nukes. You don't have to use nukes to economically or militarily destroy )figure of speech)a country the Germans and Iraqis are testament to that.
Since when is a leader calling a despots bluff, putting the ball back in Kim's court not praise worthy.
Trump has nothing but bad press in Australia, today after his speech it has been mostly positive.
Blame Obama for this mess, it happened successive democrat watch.

I watched his speech, while being long, repetitive and a bit condescending, he's made some fair points. And he's been blunt. I prefer that over the tiptoeing around that hasn't gotten is anywhere @ North Korea, Iran and China. He called them all out. Obama - even though I liked him as a person much much much more - was just too soft and often didn't make any sense (eg when announcing military plans, as discussed earlier on this blog). But we now have to see if Trump's strategy of "maximum pressure and maximum engagement" works. I'd like to see more of the engagement side. Just meet the North Korean leader. Talk it out. Have a few jokes and crack open a beer together with Melania. I'm sure that will actually help. Just talk and give the little guy his moment in the spotlight - we all know that's what he wants. Then give him an ultimatum of 72hrs during which he needs to think about if he wants to love or die. Simple as that.

North Koreans rarely if ever travel outside of their country.

Perhaps they are afraid of a coup while they are away.

Perhaps they are afraid that the Russians or Chinese might depose them.

I would rather meet than start a war. I mean I would really try, but I would not shy away from war.

Just make sure it is non-American beer. To my knowledge European beer has a higher alcohol content. When I visit a country, I always want to know important things such as, who taught the locals how to make beer. If it was the Americans ... not so good.
