Paik Hak-soon, longtime North Korea analyst at the Sejong Institute, a think tank outside Seoul: "The way North Korea's supreme leadership works, Kim Jong-un has to respond more assertively as its enemy gets more confrontational, like Trump has. There is no backing down in the North Korean rule book."

It is a different psychology.
If you do not want to fight North Korea directly, you have to start rolling up smaller dictators.
If the smaller dictators see their brethren deposed and give up or sign an agreement, you have to honor it.
Bush took out Saddam. This scared Qaddaffi and he signed an agreement. When Obama took out Qaddaffi, he broke the agreement. This was a very bad thing for America. Who would want to negotiate with us? One president makes an agreement and than a W.I.M.P. president breaks the agreement.
The W.I.M.P., Obama, could have found somewhere else to R2P like Sudan. We did not have an agreement with Sudan and they have a terrible government. Need I mention Darfur with the genocide and slavery? We could have taken out another dictator, but show we honored our agreements. Obama could have take out the proto-dictator and now full-blown dictator Maduro, the bus driver, who still talks to Hugo Chavez.

That would have sent a message to Fidel, Daniel, the Ayatollahs and others.
You have to give a brinksman 100% certainty. Kim Jong In might be 99% certain that Trump means what he says. He might believe that he will die if he starts a war. But he is only 99% certain, he'll still start or still maneuver toward confrontation. Couple that with the fact that Donald Trump might be deposed by the media or being made unable to the govern by timid Republicans, lying Media and venal Democrats, Kim Jong Un might be justified into thinking he only as a 40% change of dying.
You have to give Kim Jong In 100% certainty that he will, die if he starts a war and 100% certainty that, if we make a deal we will honor it.
Give 100% certainty that he can retire to Tahiti or 100% certainty that he and the 100 families will be wiped out root and branch.
