WNU Editor: I think I posted something like this a fw months ago (the above article was posted at the beginning of this year .... so it is dated). But it is good to be reminded again on how the Europeans view their military and its role in defending their country. On a side note .... the country with the fewest people willing to go to war was Japan, with just 11% of respondents saying they would fight.

War is often not something you choose. If Germany were to be invaded by Russia, you'll see these numbers change and change quickly. Germans might be peaceful now, but piss them off and they'll be like Klingons lusting for blood (but with the scientific and engineering aptitude of Romulans). My point is that this research is moot at best and misleading at worst. They help neither aggressors nor defendors. ..perhaps policy makers, but even then the question about "willingness" is intellectual garbage. Not even the maps look pretty ...and that from a website that claims to have "brilliant" maps.... maybe in colour choice. ..Lol

Wow what a fake number on Sweden, and I dare to guess many other countrys too. I have yet to meet a fellow Swede who is willing to lay down their lives for our country and our politicians. We are totally fed up with whats happening in Sweden (or at least the northern parts of it) that people openly joke about "it would be better if the russians just came and got rid of everyone, but even they dont want our mess"

Ha har, true Hans. I am also from Sweden and most of us ethnic swedes are disgusted by the islamisation of Sweden and mass immigration. I would say 10% is a high estimate of people willing to fight for this country.

The same numbers go for Germany. In our countries patriotism has been killed and therefore everyone is just interested in looking out for ourselves and the closest family and friends.

Well, its hard to be patriot these days when its almost illegal practicing it.
For example, in Sweden its not allowed singing our national song in certain schools. Politicians are trying hard to erase nationalism, branding everything and everyone "Nazis." This would be a great joke if it wasn't true.
