Is There A Geopolitical Shift In The Middle East?

Cyril Widdershoven, OilPrice.com: Is This The Geopolitical Shift Of The Century?

The geopolitical reality in the Middle East is changing dramatically.

The impact of the Arab Spring, the retraction of the U.S. military, and diminishing economic influence on the Arab world—as displayed during the Obama Administration—are facts.

The emergence of a Russian-Iranian-Turkish triangle is the new reality. The Western hegemony in the MENA region has ended, and not in a shy way, but with a long list of military conflicts and destabilization.

The first visit of a Saudi king to Russia shows the growing power of Russia in the Middle East. It also shows that not only Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, but also Egypt and Libya, are more likely to consider Moscow as a strategic ally.

WNU editor: When it became known that the U.S. was negotiating with Iran on a nuclear deal .... without consulting and informing America's allies in the region .... it fundamentally changed the U.S. - Saudi alliance of the past 70 years. I remarked at the time .... and I believe it even strongly now .... that for the Saudis this was an act of betrayal that threatened their national security interests, and there had to be a response. We are now seeing what that response is .... the old alliances that formed and shaped the Middle East for years are now over, but more importantly we are now seeing the U.S. being relegated to a lesser role. Years from now historians will look and debate if the U.S. outreach to Iran was worth the cost of these alliances .... and while we will not know the answers until then, it does not look very promising today.

"The international community is implementing the landmark nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers - the US, UK, France, China and Russia plus Germany."
Israel was very much against this treaty...Saudis still buying zillions of weapons from us and from Russia..
AS you are way off, again, and dumping the treaty guarantees Iran has nukes in short order
Your simplistic anti Obama and Democrats BS convinces me you are obtuse, willing to toss aside rationality because of entrenced biases.
who are our allies? UK, France , Germany and our enemies Russia, China...so we dump them for Saudis? moronic

I had neglected to note
some time ago, Saudis said that if and when Iran gets nukes, they will also go for their own...so we drop treaty, Iran gets nukes, and then Saudis have them too? smart

AS
your brain isn’t built to easily spot your own lack of self-awareness. It may seem like a futile pursuit, but Kahneman offers an answer that’s a little bit hopeful, even if it’s also a little bit frustrating. “What can be done about our biases?” he writes. “The short answer is that little can be achieved without considerable investment of effort.”

Moving past these blocks first requires acknowledging where you’re starting from. Indeed, “the most powerful thing you can do is to gently stop assuming you’re already self-aware,” Eurich suggests.

I write 10 words just 10 and I pushed everyone of Fred Lapides buttons because he is a liberal, dyed-in-the-wool-Leftist-Democrat.

At one time (1974 - ????) Somalia and Ethiopia were Soviet Union, client states.

People said it could not be done, because they were traditional enemies. But there it was.

The leaders of Saudi Arabia and Iran both go to Moscow. What was done once can be done again.

We're are going top lose Germany as an ally? Look who lost. It was the Merkel. Her days may not be as numbered politically as Theresa May, but she is the same kind of special.

Russia was an American Ally?

France is an ally? It might be fair to ask if it is an even or an odd year. That is what party is in power. Right now a socialist is in power. Sure he lied about being a socialist, but he is.

Saudi Arabia decided during the Obama administration to get a nuke. Poor Fred is just finding out now. The sales for Patriots started way before Trump announced. It is all about your boy & God, Obama.

Once again Fred engages in a psychological mind games. It might behoove Fred to learn that psychological theories come and go.

It was once believed that willpower (for a few decades) was finite at least during a given time period like a day. Scott Adams the creator believed in it. He wrote about in his latest book. Then in Discover magazine or some other periodical the author of that original story cried "Mea culpa, I was wrong and the study has not bee replicated."

"Do You Think Willpower Is A Limited Resource?" - Huffpo

www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/19/willpower-limited-resource-_n_3781886.html

Here is an article about a theory that failed replication. I cannot find the original article, but IO present this one as an example (there are many)

The Myth of The 30 IQ Point “Communication Range”

http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/neuroskeptic/2017/08/31/myth-30-iq-communication-range/#.Wdu05LpFw98

Besides Fred how much psychology have you studied outside of a coffee table book, a NYT blurb, or Playboy mag article?

Better luck next time at your attempt at a psychological mind ____

The pity is that Columbus Day lets some workers off for the day and so instead of dumping venom after 6 pm, they (AS) begin much earlier.
I vewnture to say I know as much and more about a number of areas than your venomous remarks suggest. Worry not about my background, sir...I had learned early on from my parents not to be nasty and to engage in arguments without dumping heaps of childish name calling remarks...go forth and sin no more, moron

Fred I actually liked Obama, thought he could maybe bring some peace to the world using the big stick of the U.S. But one can't help but notice the damage he has done to your country, maybe not deliberate but it still happened. And don't get me started on the S chin sea. Zampathar
