No surprise here. The rampant drug use in the UK is underreported, really. The Britts do a great job at selling themselves as serious people - and they absolutely can be and have great thinkers - but man do they love their drugs. Having lived years in the UK I'm amazed how well this country manages to hide/balance their love for drugs with decent work ethics. They party all the time, take drugs all the time, but come to the office at 9 and will do their job. The problem is that if you're in the military you're not just responsible for finishing work on time. There has to be low tolerance. Zero tolerance is impossible in the uk for drugs as even many of the commanding officers will be taking drugs for sure - at the highest levels even more so (they looove drugs over there and kinky parties). So yeah, don't expect this problem to go away any time soon

Having said that. ..I'm not 100% sure about the effect of cocaine (haven't tried), but heard it's a drug that makes you more aggressive, self confident and an asshole (Charlie Sheen type but worse)...imagine what other nations must think if the nuclear arsenal of the UK (which is shared with /through the US) is under command of drug users - cocaine users even! While I do respect the uk immensely, they need to reinvent themselves and quickly. I hope that the brexit debacle accelerates their self-finding trip (pun intended)

Drug use is unacceptable when your in charge of such weapons and responsible for the protection of a country. Where the use of prostitutes is not an issue (unless your the wife of a submariner using one) with regards to both the commander and and the assistant commander having relationships with two female officers ,I believe relationships among crew at any level while on deployment are unacceptable and unfair to other crew who may be missing their loved ones or just missing the intamacy of a partner. This most certainly would lead to low moral where 5 officers threatened to quit and another went awol home to see his girlfriend. The females involved are as much to blame as the men in this affair. If the woman are old enough being 25 and 27 and capable enough to become weapons engineering officers then I think they knew what they were doing. There are soldiers in the military facing combat in places like Iraq who are much younger than those females involved. Just a case of lack of discipline and lack of respect for others by all parties. I feel sorry for those left behind at home.
