ADDED: Most people will just see this cover and not even consider reading the article, so the question is: What is the subliminal effect of the cover? If it's not anti-Trump, then Newsweek has failed, and I would say Newsweek has failed. Reason:

WNU Editor: Growing up in the Soviet Union I can say this with confidence .... the Soviets were better propagandists. The sad part is that I still have old Newsweek and Time magazines from the 1980 .... what a contrast between how professional they were then in their opposition to President Reagan, and what they have become today.

Maybe the staff at Newsweek and Time magazines are dumbing their coverage down to their comprehension level of their readership, 12 year olds.
Newsweek like many print mags, got into financial trouble and now seems to have turned Left in outlook to try to work a readership they might hook up with. Not unusual. One cable company, owned by a very conservative corporation is left in outlook to go up against right wing Fox...what the mag was in the past is not what it is today.If you feel they should not exist, then what of Breitbart et al? room for many views, no?
as for Mr Smith's snark about reading levels, I note he refers any number of times to the rabid right wing Pajamas conglomerate...a passel of venom spouting people, some of whom are well educated but ball busters nonetheless, proving once again that being bright or even well educated does not mean you are wise or profound...
The internet age has been here for over 20 years and Newsweek is still trying to find its sea legs.
