Iran Wants The Syrian Army To Storm Raqqa And Seize It From U.S-Backed Fighters

Reuters: Syrian government forces will march to Raqqa soon, Iranian official says

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syrian government forces will advance soon to take Raqqa city, which U.S.-backed fighters seized from Islamic State last month, a senior Iranian official said on Friday.

Ali Akbar Velayati, the top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, also accused the United States of seeking to divide Syria by stationing its forces east of the Euphrates river.

Since early in the Syrian war, Iran has provided critical military support to the Damascus government, helping it regain swathes of land from rebels and militants.

WNU Editor:  Here is an easy prediction .... the Syrian army and their Iranian backed militias will march on Raqqa in the coming weeks. The question is .... what will the Kurds and their Arab allies do, and more specifically .... what will the U.S. do.

It will be a good opportunity for the US forces to confront the Iran's one. The unknown is what Russia and America agree about the Syria future?

If no agreement between the Kurds and the government is reached, and they elect to take it by force, the US will obliterate them while still in the desert and in the open. The Syrians can't stop the US air force and either can the Russians or Iranians. The best bet is the Russian surface to air systems. But it's unlikely that they can see the American stealth aircraft and even if they could, they won't have those radars for very long. It will be a Syrian blood bath.

Don't underestimate the aircraft and calibre of pilots Russia has there.

We need more boots on the ground to defend Raqqa.

More like you need to get out or a country that did not even invite you. Usa should learn to respect international law, not act like the law
