The Next Big Washington Investigation Will Be On How Did The FBI Use Trump's Russian Dossier To Further Their Investigations

CNN

Byron York, Washington Examiner: After Trump dossier revelation, FBI is next

Investigators looking into the so-called "Trump dossier" were not surprised when news broke Tuesday night that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC, working through the Democrats' law firm, Perkins Coie, financed the "salacious and unverified" compilation of allegations of Trump collusion with Russia in the 2016 presidential campaign. (The "salacious and unverified" description comes from former FBI Director James Comey.)

There had been plenty of talk about the Democrats and Perkins Coie, so much that investigators almost assumed that was the case. But it wasn't until the Washington Post broke the story that it was confirmed.

"I'm shocked," one lawmaker joked Tuesday night. "Who could have ever guessed?"

WNU Editor: This story and speculation around it has been around for a long time. But if the FBI used this dossier to get court ordered wiretaps/surveillance/etc. .... this puts the entire FBI and the Justice Department under suspicion that they used a political party's opposition research to pursue an investigation. I can see the uproar happening right now if this is true. On a side note, the company that funded the Russian Dossier on President Trump is still fighting demands from Congress for its bank records .... so while we now know who funded the dossier, we do not know who GPS Fusion paid (beside Christopher Steele who researched the dossier). Why is this important? The conservative website Daily Caller noticed this little tidbit of information ....

.... Fusion’s lawyers say that the House committee seeks records of its bank transactions with 10 law firms, as well as with unnamed media companies and journalists

On what did Fusion GPS needed done to pay-off journalists and media companies? This story may just be beginning.

Update: News like this does not help the FBI .... Judicial Watch: New Documents Show FBI Deputy Director McCabe Did Not Recuse Himself from the Clinton Email Scandal Investigation until Week Before Presidential Election (Judicial Watch).

If this and if that, etc.
the question is not who finananced but is that material valid. Citing an early statement, we learn in this post that it has not been vetted. However since that statement some of that material has been vetted and is accurate. We wait then for further details as the anti Mueller folks try to derail the ongoing work.
