Defense News: US official: If Turkey buys Russian systems, they can’t plug into NATO tech

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — If Turkey moves forward with its buy of a Russian air defense system, it will not be permitted to plug into NATO technology, and further action may be forthcoming that could affect the country’s acquisition or operation of the F-35, a top Air Force official said Wednesday.

Turkey has reportedly finalized a deal with Russia for the S-400, an advanced anti-aircraft missile system. According to a Nov. 12 Reuters report, Turkish Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli claimed that it had made an order for the missiles and further terms of the agreement were “just details now.”

Can the s400 system monitor f35 tracking patterns and be used to profile this plane's fingerprints in the sky?

This is how Turkey falls out the alliance technically.

Turkey is and has been out of the alliance since at least 2003, when Erdogan made life more difficult for the U.S.

Maybe we had our hands full or maybe GWB is not that smart. Obama definitely is not that smart.

The U.S. was put on notice in 2003 or earlier if you were reading the WSJ 1999). We have had 14 years to fix this problem. Unfortunately over 1/2 that time the Bamster was in power and he does not 'do' problems.

In truth the problem may not be fixable, since we are not at "The End of History..." and we have a clash of civilizations. We are not just a few degrees out of phases. We are way off and anyone, who thinks differently is whistling past the graveyard, selling Hopium, or is just plain stupid.

If we still have any nukes at Incirlik, now might be a good time to get them out of there.
