US Air Force officials have not confirmed the type of missile used as yet
The ballistic missile fired by Yemeni rebels that targeted the Saudi Arabia capital was from Iran and bore “Iranian markings,” a top US Air Force official in the Middle East has said.
Lieutenant General Jeffrey L Harrigian, who oversees the Air Forces Central Command in Qatar, made the comments at a news conference in Dubai.
Mr Harrigian said authorities were investigating how the missile was smuggled into Yemen amid a Saudi-led coalition controlling the country’s airspace, ports, and borders.

If true, the Saudi multinational air and sea blockaide is completely useless.
The Scud D that the Ansrullah Movement's missiles are based on, are over 40 feet long, 2 1/2 feet in diameter and weigh over 7 ton's. Their TEL's are 70 feet long, 14 feet wide, 12 feet tall and weigh 40 tons.
The Ansrullah Movement has fired 86 Scud type missiles at Saudi Arabia.

If True, ( to quote the current crop of Republican's) the Saudi lead , Western assisted, multinational blockaide can find and stop all attempts at smuggling food, fuel and medicine from entering Yemen, but can't find massive missiles or their TEL's, nor the large cargo ships they are transported on, nor even see them via survelliance for the hours they need to unload that cargo at the one port in control of the Ansruallah Movement.
On the other hand, it's not the first time that US Officials have parotted Saudi talking points with complete knowledge that the Saudi's were lying. 9/11 comes to mind.
With out the commitment of US Air, Naval and Ground Forces, the Saudi Military is a hollow shell, more now that the SANG and SAA have purged at Senior Levels.

IHI Janes and other experts believe members of the former Yemen Rocket Forces, are cutting apart and stretching various Scud models, Soviet and North Korean, that had been purchased by the Yemen Government years ago, to creat new long range versions,
and taking obsolete SAM-3 air to air missiles, and converting them into ballistic missiles.
As the Wikileaks of US State Department cables show, the flow of Iranian arms, is from former Yemeni military stockpiles, being smuggled out of Yemen, to Sudan.
"If" Iran were supporting the Ansruallah Movement with weapons, the Ansruallah Movement would have much better ManPads and anti-tank weapons, and "if" Iran could manage to smuggle in SCUD-D clones with out interception by the blockaide, then they could easily smuggle in tanks, fighter jets, armoured vehicles, food, fuel and medicine.
So either Iran has "stealth freighters" capable of delivering TEL's and Scud's past the US supported embargo,
or, Iran is smuggling in TEL's and Scuds in regular large freighters, past the useless blockaide, or in full view of the US Navy,
or, Iran isn't smuggling in anything, and the former members of the Yemeni National Guard Rocket Artillary Forces, are just good at their job.
